Following After You

Lord may my spirit follow after You, rejecting the lust of the flesh,
For if I chase after the things of the world, then in the spiritual I can't be blessed,
And as to my living life in You, may You be my only source,
Of the wisdom and knowledge that I need, to run the straight and narrow course,
Avoiding the pitfalls sin will cause, the traps Satan will lay,
Surviving my earthly existence, by living for You day by day,
And though my faith is blind, in my mind's eye I now see,
All the good things You have planned, concerning prosperity and health for me,
I am thankful that to You my past, is just that the past,
So I will avoid the temporary this world offers, for an eternity that will last,
An eternity where worshipping and praising, is all I'm going to do,
And in my doing it I will show the eternal love, that I have only for You.
