Solution Not Resolution

I wonder a lot this time of year, about resolutions people make,
And I know from personal experience, many of them people break,
For every one wants their lives to move, from the good life to one that's great,
But I believe it is the wrong way, to determine our own fate,
We need to accept Jesus as Savior, then constantly seek His will,
Instead of making unkeepable promises, we need to find what's real,
For the devil will use anything, to lead us astray,
So we need to spend time in God's Word, and we always need to pray,
Because within our own humanness, we will surely fail,
But Jesus has created the Way, to save us all from hell,
So instead of wasting time, making a bunch of crazy resolutions,
I will live my life for Christ, He is my permanent solution.

A Great New Year

The clock is slowly winding down, so another year can end,
And it has been a better year, than some of the other ones have been,
For I feel like I have grown closer, to where God wants me to be,
But it is a learning process, this salvation that set me free,
And I know that this side of Heaven, I will never be perfect,
Yet I pray that the will of my Savior, my life always reflects,
So that I can be an instrument, that God can easily use,
Rejecting the devil's temptation, so I will not be confused,
Seeking the Blesser and not the blessings, the Giver and not the gifts,
Never forgetting about my worship, as His holy name I lift,
So in going from 2011 to 2012, I'll keep the faith and will not fear,
Because if I'm walking with my Savior, it will be a great new year.

Making Room

As the innkeeper told Mary and Joseph, sorry there is no room,
Do we too tell Jesus this, the very one who rose up out of His tomb?
In our busy lives do we not take the time, to do what God wants us to do?
To worship the only Savior, where His blood fell the love grew,
If we follow Him and seek Him, His presence is never very far,
Away from us and Lord we truly, want to be right where You are,
The past is past and the future waits, but we need You now and here,
For Lord You are our eternity, and fill our hearts with hope not fear,
So may I remove all that is not of You, and just live within Your will,
And let Your love come inside, and just let Your love fill,
Now I anxiously await You Lord, as a bride waits for her groom,
For I want You to know Lord that in my living, there will always be room.

Whoever Calls

In Romans we find that whoever calls on Jesus, surely will be saved,
I know that the cross was not the end, there is an empty grave,
Hard to believe that a baby born in a stable, is now a Savior for me,
And no matter my past, present, or future, I'll be with Him through eternity,
I have a peace that passes all understanding, life now is not hopeless,
As I reach out and seriously seek Him, He desires only to bless,
For God took a wretched undesirable sinner, and made my heart brand new,
And in the changing I realized, he has a special plan for me too,
Now all I can see is a Heavenly future, and I want some more to go,
But the only way is believing in Jesus, and this I surely know,
So discover that your living, is not your own personal game,
And find out just how special you are, by calling on Jesus' name.

Surviving Together

How wonderful life is, when shared with Christian friends,
To be in a place of enjoyment, that is not filled with sin,
Where the beauty of a person, is found within their heart,
And the love they have for their Savior, will never depart,
Knowing at any time you can call on them, if you need them to pray,
For they know the answer is found, with the one who guides their way,
And they don't care about your past, but about your eternity,
Growing together in wisdom, to find out what God wants us to be,
We wake up every morning, expecting miracles from above,
Never getting enough, of experiencing and sharing God's love,
Thank You Lord for my Christian friends, who help me keep my life real,
Who walk with me as we seek You, surviving together in Your will.

White Alabama Christmas

In my lifetime I don't recall a white Christmas, in this Alabama state,
But every year the weatherman says, this could be the year just wait,
Now there may have been one year, when we had a flake or two,
But it wasn't enough to make a snowball, that I could throw at you,
So if you want a white Christmas here in Alabama, you’ll need to get a can of paint,
If you're looking to the skies to see it happen, let me tell you it just ain't,
But one can wish and really hope, that this will be the year,
That we'll wake up with our world white, to boost our holiday cheer,
So I will dream and eat divinity, maybe enjoy a candy cane,
I thought it snowed hard during the night, but I looked out and it was rain,
One has to move further north, if they're expecting any snow to fall,
But I love Alabama too much to leave, so Merry Christmas y'all.

From a Manger

The Christ child in a manger, His star shining above,
This picture always reminds me, just how great is our God's love,
To an undeserving world, God gave the greatest gift,
And from the terrible road to hell, our very soul did lift,
In the sin-filled garden of death, I saw a beautiful rose bloom,
Giving mercy and hope, a one and only salvation from a life of doom,
The shadow of the cross, loomed just down the human road,
And a baby born of a virgin, grew up a Savior, bearing our sin's load,
So in the spirit of the season, in our decorating, getting, and giving,
May we remember the reason for it all, especially in the way we're living,
As we speed toward eternity, may our Christianity not become a stranger,
But remember the greatest act of love ever, started in a stable's manger.

Thankful for Christmas

Lord at this special time of year, as we celebrate Your birth,
May we remember the reason for it, really how much Christmas is worth,
For there would not have been a Calvary, without a Bethlehem,
As You were the perfect lamb that was born, to save us from our sins,
Though the conditions You were born in Lord, were some of the worst,
You are God's best, the living water, for which I now thirst,
From a stable's manger, to a cruel cross, Lord You are so much more,
Like wondering what's in a Christmas gift, what does Heaven have in store?
I will find out when I enter Your presence, to personally worship You,
Praising You each moment of eternity, and still singing carols too,
So I choose to believe in a Savior born of a virgin, and to Him I ever pray,
And I will pursue Him with all of my passion, thank God for Christmas day.

Near

As I deal with the cares of this world, sometimes I feel the night surrounds me,
But I ever place my trust in You Lord, and it is by Your light I see,
For if I let worries get me down, then I won't get anything done,
But God I place my faith in the salvation, that I received from Your Son,
Because Satan will be satisfied, anytime he can lead me astray,
That is why I have to be diligent, and live what I believe each day,
For the battle with temptations is constant, and in this life will never end,
Yet I seek to dwell in Your presence Lord, and always on You depend,
For I want to know more about You, and never be outside Your will,
Now in the mad rush of survival Lord, may I find time to be still,
So I can discover my purpose, so every word You say I hear,
For when I truly seek You Lord, is when I really feel You are near.

The Gift of Worship

As we worry and stress, spending lots of money, who is it we are pleasing?
Do we forget the gift of worship, in this glorious Christmas season?
For it seems every year we want more presents, underneath the tree,
There is not enough celebrating the birth of God's Son, who died to set us free,
As God sent Jesus to be our Savior, this is the ultimate in giving,
So we should show our gratitude for it, by the way we do our living,
As we think about joy and think about peace, and good will to all men,
Let us never fall short in our praising, the one born to bear our sins,
I will cherish the birth of the one who died for me, to Him I'll ever cling,
Also I will honor Him only, with every Christmas carol that I sing,
And as we enter this season expecting things, something our spirit to lift,
Let us ever remember to worship our Lord, it should be our everyday gift.

Paid Up

In my mind's eye I see the cross, where the price for all my sins was paid,
I cannot imagine Your agony Lord, during the greatest sacrifice ever made,
And I will never forget, all You did to redeem me,
For I was a slave to my sins, now You Lord have set me free,
I was foolish for a long time, with no sense of direction,
But now Lord I travel in Your Way, changed by a miraculous revelation,
I realize more of my purpose in life, as I read Your Word every day,
And I can especially feel Your presence, every time I pray,
But I know I will only learn a small part, for there is so much to You,
I just want to learn Your will for me, what You want me to do,
Help me to change my world, reaching out to the sick and lost,
So they too can know as to the price of their sin, Your blood covered the cost.

Ever Listening

Lord I do not want to stifle our relationship, by a lack of communication,
And I never deny the salvation I have, accepted from Your Son,
For no greater gift will I ever find, no matter where I look,
I will never forget that wonderful day, when that first step I took,
Toward my repentance from my sins, to change my eternity,
Knowing within myself that my Jesus, is preparing a place for me,
Now my life's direction is eternally adjusted, with my eyes on things above,
Because of a sacrifice made to save me, given to me with God's love,
The Holy Spirit rushing into my soul, gushing like a flood,
Glory be to God for a wonderful Savior, my sins covered by His blood,
So every morning I will start the day happy, that it's Your will I seek,
Never wanting to miss even one single word Lord, that You ever speak.

Speak Truth

May I only say good things, in all the words I speak,
And may my words always honor You Lord, whose will I ever seek,
For there are blessings or cursings, in every word I utter,
So I need to be more like You Lord, not fill my mind with sinful clutter,
Letting Your love fill my heart, so when I loose my tongue it will flow,
And everyone will know I am a believer, that it will always show,
Also I want my life in private, to be like my public life too,
For I do not want to do anything Lord, that doesn't reflect You,
Ever growing in the knowledge, of what the good Lord wants me to be,
Because from the bondage Satan had for me, I have been set free,
May I speak the truth like You Lord, in all the words I'm saying,
So that it will be just exactly like, I spend my whole life praying.

An Empty Place

Lord when Satan sneaks up behind me, may I ever be so bold,
To deny him access to my mind, for he cannot touch my soul,
Because You Lord have touched my life, and You have set me apart,
And You Lord have set me free, now Your love fills my heart,
So wherever Your will takes me, I know that You are there,
No burden will come upon me, that You won't help me bear,
I don't have to fear tomorrow, for You hold my eternity,
The place the devil had for me in hell, will always remain empty,
And I will share You faithfully, so hell has many an empty place,
So many more are saved, and one day will look into Your face,
Then they like me can thank You personally Lord, for all that You have done,
Hallelujah for the free gift of salvation, offered by God's Son.

I Give My Heart

Lord even when I am unfaithful, You are ever faithful still,
And when I fall short in my daily walk, Your promises remain real,
For You Lord never change, You are always strong and steady,
So for everything You have for me, I need to make sure I'm ready,
Because I need more wisdom and knowledge, all about You I want to learn,
To walk on the straight and narrow, never making any wrong turns,
Finding where my place in life is, what You Lord want me to do,
So I am never double minded, but keep all my thoughts on You,
For this human life is too short, for one minute to be wasted,
May I take every opportunity to share You, this glory I have tasted,
I will ever be thankful, knowing in Your presence I now live,
Lord My heart is full of love for You, and all of it to You I give.

More Pure

Lord give me the strength, to live a life of purity,
For I want it to be, only the absolute truth that my eyes see,
For I've sought the temporary pleasures, that are found in sin,
But I have found my eternity Lord, in the words You've penned,
For the Bible is full of directions, for me to live by every day,
My live is greatly enriched, every time I pause to pray,
I can speak Your will into my life Lord, and change it and others too,
I am learning more every minute, and wondering how I lived without You,
Now I am finding true joy, when I worship and I praise,
My Savior, who died for me, how can I not my hands raise?
Humbly thanking You for all You've done, Heaven is my future I am sure,
For I accept this life You've given me, just help me live it pure.

Out of My Darkness

As God spoke to the darkness, and suddenly there was light,
He still is speaking to it, saving me from my black, sinful night,
Giving me hope to carry on, even when all hope seems lost,
Helping me see the truth of the cross, what my sinning really cost,
And learning all the bad things I've ever done, I can never undo,
But I now know all has been forgiven, by my just believing in You,
I can never repay You Lord, for my sins being forgiven and forgotten,
Thankful that now my earnest desire, is never to return back to my sin,
Finding that in Your perfect will Lord, I receive my eternity,
Forever grateful that I made the right choice, when it was offered to me,
So I will speak into my life Lord, like You spoke into my night,
And spiritual talk will mold my being, making everything alright.

Speak It

Lord may I be careful with my words, and be spiritual in all I speak,
That I don't say anything out of Your will, which I ever seek,
May I declare all glory and honor to You, as I put on the garment of praise,
And not place anything ahead of You, on any given day,
For You accept me just as I am, and have forgiven me of my sins,
Your Son sacrificed to save me, now all my trust I place in Him,
May I realize the importance, of discovering my life's reality,
Knowing every word I utter, can determine what's ahead for me,
For I want my existence to always point, straight and only to You,
Because I want You Lord to guide me, in all I say and do,
So I will avoid the negative, just to the positive will I cling,
And may I just say things that please You, the creator of good things.

Living God's Will

I wake up every morning, seeking to be in God's will,
For in mine I accomplish nothing, but God's promises are real,
And in every idle moment, may I remember to simply pray,
Because an idle mind is the devil's workshop, an easy place to stray,
So I ever seek to grow spiritually, with my mind on things above,
Knowing God's grace and mercy, He covers me with His love,
And if I experience a weak moment, I can always look to Him,
My Heavenly eternity assured by my believing, Jesus has saved me from my sin,
But I am constantly aware, as Satan wants me to be deceived,
Yet there is no way he can overcome, all that I believe,
And I will do everything I can, to let God know just how I feel,
For I never ever want to be, outside of God's perfect will.

Always Right There

Everyone wants to experience happiness, it's a bummer to be sad,
But some people will cover their sadness, by acting like they're mad,
And some can't figure out their emotions, don't know just how they feel,
In their not knowing or their forgetting, God is in control of things still,
For God does not forsake His children, He wants them to be raised right,
But it's hard for Him to do it, if we're running in the night,
For He has cleared a way for us, a path for us to trod,
Yet we cannot stay on it, outside our continually experiencing God,
His love ever rains down on us, like a never ending flood,
He gave us the ultimate sacrifice, our sin's are covered by His Son's blood,
So if any feel they have hit bottom, and that no one really cares,
Just believe and always remember, Jesus is always right there.

My Eternal Desire

When I am so tired and weary, You Lord are my cheer,
And You Lord lift my spirit, as I know that You are near,
As I read about You in Your Word, I experience a spiritual bouquet,
For I see how beautiful life can be, in every word You say,
I know there's no hope in a sin filled life, it's not where I want to be,
Because when I was there I found You, and Your truth has set me free,
And it set my feet on a new path, walking in Your Way,
I know You are the answer, my salvation, my reason to pray,
For now I will always rely on Your guidance, and from it never depart,
And following You is so much easier, since Your Word is hidden in my heart,
Now though my human body gets weary Lord, I know You never tire,

Submitting

Lord I pray for Your will, my submission to what You want me to do,
For life is not worth living, if I'm not living it for You,
I do not want to be recognized, except in my being a believer,
And of all glory, honor, and praise, may You be the receiver,
Whatever my place on this earth, Lord show me my part,
May it be involved in sharing Your salvation, in changing people's hearts,
I want to be Your humble servant, regarding all others above me,
So let me be the eyes, through which Jesus they can see,
For their eternity will be lost, outside of their accepting Your salvation,
And believing the truths in Your Word, from Genesis to Revelation,
So Lord let me begin each day, like I'm on a Heavenly mission,
But let me never do it, without sharing You Lord in holy submission.

Listen

God has many things to share with us, do we hear what He has to say?
Or do we just rush through life, thinking God is just someone to whom we pray?
For God will guide us through our humanness, if we only let Him lead,
We need to sit down with the Holy Bible, and its instructions heed,
Christianity is a special lifestyle, to take us through eternity,
Something to take us to the destination, where God wants us to be,
And that wonderful destination, is truly a special place,
Because there is much more to it, then just surviving this human race,
We need to spend more time with God, then just sitting in church for an hour,
We need to realize we are in His presence, and can experience His power,
God wants us to change our world, He wants to save all souls,
So helping Him achieve this, should be our ultimate goal.

A Chosen One

Lord I'm thankful for Your forgiveness, when I don't act like I should,
And I appreciate Your healing, I am feeling pretty good,
I can look back over my life, and see where You protected me through the night,
For as I walked the road toward hell, You turned me toward Your glorious light,
As I try to do things my way, I know that You love me still,
I just have to be more diligent, to do Yours and not my will,
For each day I need to seek You, as I walk upon life's road,

Lord I might seem greedy, always asking You for the maximum dose,
But I just know my life goes better, when I'm guided by the Holy Ghost,
Yet I've found that with You, a little bit goes a long long way,

And for all You do, I will always thank You very much,

Every Step

Lord may Your Word be my road map, as I take this human trip,
That even through the treacherous places, my faith will never slip,
For in the physical I am not promised, even one more day,

But since I accepted You as my Savior, I am in all things rich,

From the Darkness

To a world walking through the darkness, we are truly God's light,
Helping those who have no hope, as we shine into their night,
Sharing with them the answer, but still they have to choose,
Hoping they will realize, how much there is to lose,
For I have been in the darkness, and found it is not the place to live,
Now I shine with the Master's light, accepting the salvation that He gives,
His light is an eternal one, that never will burn out,
And it is full of promises and love, removing the darkest doubt,
It opens sin-blinded eyes, the gospel truth ever revealing,
Reminding me to pray, that I need to spend much more time kneeling,
I will always be thankful, for the Lord's eternity is mine,
And I will forever seek His will, and I will let my light shine.

I hope that you are doing well and prospering, as you receive this greeting,

Truly Changed

I am my own person Lord, seems it's hard for me to change,
But there are some things in my life Lord, that I need You to rearrange,
For I am constantly bombarded, by the evil this world holds,
And if one would let it, it can turn a heart stone cold,
But I am committed to a different path, the best one I could chose,
For I realize if I wander off it, there is too much to lose,
Because Satan is the ruler of this world, he wants to possess my soul,
But Lord I've accepted You as Savior, to Your promises I will hold,
For there is nothing from my past, that needs to be repeated,
So I live every single day, reminding the devil he is defeated,
Now if some of my old friends see me, they may think that I am strange,
May they learn it is because of You Lord, that I am now changed.

My Influence

Lord keep my mind clear of ungodly thoughts, for You are my desire,
And I don't want any other influence, I just want You to inspire,
For the devil spends way too much time, trying to invade my thoughts,
But Lord You have forgiven me, and I am now blood bought,
So on the things of Heaven, may my mind always dwell,
For I am a true believer, that has been rescued from the road to hell,
And that is a road to which, I never ever want to return,
But Your Holy Word speaking to me Lord, is what I want to learn,
So may my heart be like rich soil, where You can plant what I need to know,
May my feet never stray from Your Way, the direction that I need to go,
Now when temptation comes, You Lord are my righteous defense,
And You Lord will be my all in all, my eternal spiritual influence.

A Forever Love

Lord Your love is like a raging fire, that will ever burn,
And that love always surrounds me, protecting me at every turn,
Also that love reminds me, how much You show me mercy and grace,
One day I will thank You for it, when we are face to face,
Your love is indescribable, greater than any other,
Greater even than the love, given to me by my mother,
And there is so much of Your love Lord, that my heart overflows,
So much that I want to share it, everywhere I go
It is this love that birthed salvation, by the life You gave,
And in one's accepting You as Savior, from their sins You will save,
So I will glory in Your love, it is a fire that will be quenched never,
For it is an eternal love, that will last past forever.

Just You

Baby you don't know what you do to me, with just a simple touch,
I don't know if my heart can stand beating like that, for very much,
Now every once in a while it's okay, to experience a little PDA,
But you can get me going, to where I don't know what to say,
There aren't any words in the dictionary, describing how you make me feel,
I realize the only thing the French are good at is kissing, that's for real,
For you truly are the key, that makes my engine start,
And you could be arrested for a felony, the way you stole my heart,
But I won't be pressing charges, I'm just glad that you were sent,
To me when I needed love, you showed me what it really meant,
Now even though I can't think of anything, that one might consider clever,
I can say with everything I am, that I will love you forever.

Vigilant

God I am glad that You are ever vigilant, never taking a vacation,
From the Garden of Eden, through Jesus, into Heaven, we see Your will's revelation,
May our life's work even into eternity, be to fellowship with You,
For there is no greater commission, that we can ever do,
And may I live my life for You, even in the smallest task,
In the tiniest thing that I may do, for Your guidance I will ask,
For You Lord give me wisdom and knowledge, more than I'll ever need,
So when I hear You speaking to me, then Your voice I will heed,
Because I know the daily load of living, will not be more than I can bear,
But it will be a matter of rejoicing, as Your love we gladly share,
So I thank You Lord for the sacrifice, that You have made for me,

Forgiver of Sin

Oh God I am so thankful for Jesus, and pray I'll be more like Him,
The author of eternal salvation, who is truly the only forgiver of sin,
Who hung on a rugged cross, bearing all of sin's great weight,
Lord I pray everyone will accept You, before it is too late,
May we accept the commission, You have given to us all,
Who are Christians, it is just simply, answering Your call,
Going out into a world, that is dying every day,
Sharing the gospel story of You Lord, the one to whom we pray,
For no one knows the exact moment, when each of us will leave,
So we need to stand up every chance we get, sharing what we believe,
With Jesus as our Savior, we will never return to where we once had been,
And we will live eternally, with the forgiver of our sin.

Lord as I walk through this earthly journey, You make my life complete,

Oh my dear you are a bouquet of beauty, you share it with me everyday,
And some days I am overwhelmed by it, left without any words to say,
It is awesome just being with you, I'm glad you have chosen me,
The love that I have inside me is yours, because you have set it free,
And no one else can take it from me, I give it all to you,
For you have captured my heart, to only you I will be true,
To live happily ever after, is not only a fairy tale,
It can become a reality, and apply to us as well,

Seeking His Will

As I survive this earthly life, I know that nearby angels are hovering,
And I am assured because all my sins, Your precious blood is covering,
I wake every morning Lord, thanking You for another day,
And every spare moment I feel is the time, to just pray and pray and pray,
For who can I trust any more than You, to guide the path I trod,
So I have accepted Your free gift of salvation, You are my only God,
Because I will never find spiritual direction, in any earthly things,
But I find it with my eyes on the Heavenly, to Your truths I will cling,
Never looking back to where I came from, there is no eternity there,
For my past dishonors why You came Lord, and the cross You came to bear,
I know You are looking at my heart, and knowing my faith is real,
So I will read Your Word pursuing You, and always seek Your will.

A Beautiful Salvation

Oh Lord the beauty I see around me, is a visual bouquet to my eyes,
For what is prettier than a new sunrise, painted across a clear blue sky,
Or smelling salt air as the waves splash, on a snow white beach,
Still in the greatness of all Your creation, You are within my reach,
Just being within Your presence, always gives my soul a thrill,
And in my life You become more real, as I learn more about Your will,
To overcome temptations, to do what You would have me do,
Praying that everything I accomplish, will always bring honor to You,
So the world will know that it is in Your Way, I am always walking,
And the testimony I have of You, will be reflected in my talking,
I am thankful for Your grace and mercy, all the blessings that You give,

Just the Mention of Your Name

At just the mention of Your name Lord, all of Satan's demons flee,
Your name also heals, from the bondage of sickness I am set free,
And in reading through Your Word, I find out what I need to be,
You also cure the blindness of my sins, so Your truth I can see,
I identify with You Lord, as the Savior of my soul,
And in each step of life I take, to Your hand I will hold,
I know that you will prosper me, in everything I do,
As long as what I'm doing, keeps me pointed straight at You,
And as I fight my spiritual battle, against the one who kills and steals,
In my victory over him Lord, I know Your glory will be revealed,
So now I am walking in Your Way, and will never be the same,
For I have learned the power, of just the mention of Your name.

A Glorious Salvation

Lord I can spend my lifetime, learning about You,
For every day as I search Your Word, I learn something new,
I accept the Bible as the truth, in its entirety,
And I will seek Your will in it, what You want me to be,
The Lord's prayer is the perfect example, guiding me when I pray,
I now know that my personal relationship with You Lord, is the only Way,
In Your dying on the cross, You would have done it for me alone,
I can thank You eternally for changing my heart, that I thought was stone,
So now I will use Your Word, as You fill my life up with its power,
To protect me from the tempter, every second of every minute of every hour,
For that old devil, Satan, still thinks that I can be deceived,
But I will ever praise You Lord, for this glorious salvation I've received.

Openly

Lord may I create an environment, where Your love shines through,
Where everyone I meet each day, will know I walk with You,
For I do not want to be the reason, that someone goes to hell,
But rather they can all say, with my soul all is well,
For by this world's ways and standards, no one will ever be saved,
But only by accepting Jesus as Savior, through the life He freely gave,
For life on earth is too short, one minute we should not waste,
We should freely share our Jesus, so the living waters they can taste,
For many have never heard about Jesus, that He died for all their sins,
So they remain in the same old rut, sinning again and again,
May we point them toward our Savior, so they forsake their old ways for new,
Being saved from the devil's ways, moving into a spiritual environment too.
So they make the right choice, regarding their eternity,
To break the bonds of the earthly culture, so they can be free,
Finding Christianity is a lifestyle, to be lived openly day by day,
And no temptation will draw us in, if in our Lord's presence we all stay.

Joy in Jesus

Before I came to know You Lord, I searched everywhere for a little joy,
But after I came to know the truth, I found they were all just evil ploys,
That Satan wanted to bind me totally, mind, body, and soul,
And I'm sure the devil was satisfied, with anything he could control,
Even now as a believer, I know that he is hanging around,
That he won't leave me alone, even with this strong faith I have found,
But I have chosen the righteous Way, not the one offered by the deceiver,
For I have given my life totally to Jesus, I'm a born again believer,
And I will only worship and praise, my Lord God alone,
Any thoughts of returning to my old ways, they are all long gone,
For in my accepting Jesus as Savior, my life is now brand new,
And the joy I had sought in worldly things, Lord I have truly found in You.

The Thief

The thief came today to visit me, just like he does again and again,
And as always he tries anything, just to get me to sin,
As he really wants to distract me, so a part of my soul he can steal,
But just as so many times before, he forgets my faith is real,
That the life that I live now, is not the way I used to be,
For now I believe in a Savior, who from sin's bondage has set me free,
See the thief, who is the devil, is a fallen angel from above,
Who evidently wanted more, than the blessings found in God's love,
Now be on guard so that the devil, isn't able to steal any small part,
Of your life, but that's no problem, if you give Jesus your whole heart,
For with my thoughts on higher things, there is no room for sin,
And today that old sorry thief, the devil, is being disappointed again.

The Whole

Lord in my living for You, may it be with the whole and not a part,
I would not hold back anything, but give You all my heart,
For You do not want me to be lukewarm, but either hot or cold,
My life is so much easier Lord, when I let You have total control,
And though I have weak moments, my faith is totally in You,
I realize my eternal future, is secured by my believing in You too,
For my help comes from You Lord, creator of Heaven and earth,
And You made plans for me, even before I experienced birth,
I know Lord You do not slumber, and neither do You sleep,
You are ever with me, on mountain high, in valley deep,
That is why I will not hold back any part, but will give You the whole,
For You Lord truly love me, and You Lord saved my soul.

Single and Pure

Lord may my mind be single and pure, free from all the worldly clutter,
So I can be in Your will and way, not fall into the proverbial gutter,
To help me just survive day by day, may my thoughts only be of You,
For Lord You are the only truth, as sure as the sky is blue,
The beauty all around me, reminds me of all my creator has made,
And I love Him with a passion, and that love will never fade,
But my love it is like nothing, compared with the love He has for me,
For that love sent my Lord to a cross, where He died to set me free,
The beginning of a plan, that has changed me eternally,
When I accepted Him as my Savior, when I first said I believe,
But I know the devil will still trouble me, of this I am very sure,

Example

Lord as You open my eyes to the truth, also open my ears,
So that every time You speak to me, I will also hear,
I want my life to follow, just the directions that You give,
For I have found that within Your Way, is the best way I can live,
By my living for You, maybe someone will want to change their life too,
Maybe they to will want to find, the salvation only found in You,
For very few ever pick up the Bible, it's not something that they read,
That leaves it up to us Christians, to plant salvation's seed,
So what kind of an example, do unbelievers see?
When they watch our living, can they tell we have been set free?
So use me Lord in everything, that I say and do,
For I want only to do Your will, and point the lost ones to You.

To Share His Love

Lord I pray that I convey Your love, in everything I say and do,
For even if I think of real love, Lord I am experiencing You,
Jesus You showed us the greatest love, on a cross at Calvary,
You would have died there without hesitation, if only just for me,
And there Your plan for salvation, truly experienced birth,
So there is a way to eternal life, for everyone on earth,
Our eternity is determined, by the path that we all choose,
I pray that all make the right choice, for no one likes to lose,
And You Lord make the truth plain as day, so there is no guessing,
Hell is real, but may you believe, and receive your Heavenly blessing,
I hope my living conveys the message, that I keep my eyes on things above,

In Jesus' Name

Every day I realize the truth, there is no profit in earthly gain,
But in the spiritual I've found, God blesses us all the same,
And really He gives me more, than I will ever need,
For His mercy and His grace, truly overwhelms me indeed,
His peace and every hope I have, I find by living in His will,
Even in a weak moment of temptation, I find He loves me still,
Now I will never ever be perfect, as long as I am a human being,
But I know I can live without sin, in the eternity I am seeing,

So I will not place my trust in anything, of this world I may gain,

No Limit

There is no limit on God's love, there is no end to God's power,
And we can expect an outpouring of them, at any place, at any hour,
God's presence is eternal, and will never fade away,
We need to realize He is ever with us, not just on certain days,
His blessings just keep coming, giving me a double dose,
And I will daily express my thanks, to Father, Son, and Holy Ghost,
I have no need to worry, about anything at all,
Because Jesus is beside me, and He will not let me fall,
For the devil likes nothing better, than to fill my life with stress,
But I will not be tempted, but will allow my Lord to bless,
I will follow His Way to become, all He wants me to be,
And I will give all my praise to Him, for He means everything to me.

Only One Savior

Lord this cup of faith You've given me, never will be empty,
For the rivers of living water filling it, hold more than all of this world's seas,
That river runs eternally, from the beginning until forever,

And the blessings You give to me, when I count them they are so many,
The bountifulness of life lived in You, prompts my heart to want to give,
To share so others know, this is the life all need to live,
For a life spent chasing worldly things, is on a road to hell,
But how will the lost ones ever know the truth, if we never tell,
That You Lord are the only Savior, they need to receive,
To obtain a Heavenly eternity, one only needs to believe.

No Waste

I heard birds singing, a breeze shaking the leaves, and the sun is shining,
I thank God for another day and don't bother Him, with any of my whining,
For things are pretty good and the old bones, aren't hurting me too bad,
I have a lot more reasons to be happy, and very few that make me sad,
And I just want to make a difference in someone's life, each and every day,
And staying in God's will, is the main thing for which I pray,
For it is a continuous journey, this plan God has for me,
And there are never any detours, in seeking what He wants me to be,
It doesn't have to be all big things, just a blessing small,
For who knows what it may take, to lead one to answer God's call,
And may I never hesitate, but follow You Lord without delay,
Because to waste it is not the reason, that You have given me another day.

Full of You

As I thought back on my life, so much wasted, and so full of sin,
I glanced at the cross and saw Jesus, hanging with His arms wide open,
I felt He was telling me that because of this, all my sins were forgiven,
And there will be so much more, if for Him I started living,
I am growing in my faith every day, but sometimes the going is a little rough,
I guess it takes a while to soften up a heart, that had been so hard and tough,
But Lord You have changed my heart, and You are my destiny,
And You have broken the chains of bondage, and from my sin set me free,
As often as Satan tempts me, if I resist, he tries a new lure,
But I've found You Lord are the answer, and You are my eternal cure,
Therefore I am a new creation, this sinful one has been made new,
So I will live my life sharing, just how much Lord I love You.

Though I bless You a thousand times Lord, and all my praise on You impart,
You look deep inside of me, and listen to my heart,
And if I promise You my all, everything that belongs to me,
Lord You would rather have one penny, if given unselfishly,

And in someone planting Your seed, my salvation Lord was born,
As I am nurtured in Your Word, my faith constantly grows,

He has no power over me, for Your name is always on my lips,
Now in considering my eternity Lord, from Your presence I will not depart,

Next Door

Lord I may never go overseas, but there is a mission field next door,
And I am not a rich man, but You lead me to give more,
Though I haven't reached perfection, I know I am forgiven,

And in any situation, I tried to carry the whole load,
But I've found Lord that in salvation, You take on my heavy yoke,

That the road to righteous eternal life, was created by Your Son,
For Lord I know You don't want anyone, to miss all You have in store,

May every word I speak and the smallest thought of my heart,
Be acceptable to You Lord, and from Your will may I never depart,
For in my being human, I need Your presence to keep me strong,

You who spoke creation into existence, who lights the sun, moon, and stars,

As You look deep inside me, finding my faith is real nothing fake,
For Your salvation is the answer in my life, I had for so long sought,

Quickly

Lord I am agreeing with You, and I will do it quickly,
For You have changed my heart, and truly set me free,
And I seek the wisdom that You possess, all of it I want to know,

Especially contrary to my Savior's will, the one who made me brand new,

Nothing Counterfeit

I am coming to realize what I pursued for years, was only counterfeit,
But confession is good for one's soul, this I have to admit,
Now I am seeing it more and more, that God has made big plans,
And they surely do not include anything, ever thought of by man,
For He wants me to live my life, on a much higher plane,
Mainly separating me from my sinful nature, since I've called on His name,
And a million years is not long enough, so that I can repay,
Everything that Jesus did for me, on Calvary one day,
His salvation I've accepted creating a bond, that Satan cannot sever,
All by His love that remains the same, yesterday, today, and forever,
Now my eyes are open from their sinful blindness, so that I can see,
The truth not anything counterfeit, Jesus is my reality.

Lord as I run the race before me, there are many who want to quit,
I have chosen to run until I win the prize, to Your will I submit,
For humanity is very hard for some people, to even understand,

In my existence You've made the difference, in this eternity that is mine,

Lord we come to worship You, just sitting at Your feet,
Knowing You are the eternal victory, in You there is no defeat,

But Jesus You are wonderful, life in You is the best,
I don't know how I ever existed, outside Your mercy and Your grace,

I've found to be totally in Your will, You want more than just a part,

My Spiritual Eyes

Walking on the beach, the water pushing sand between my toes,
Admiring God's creation, the size of it only He knows,
And wondering what He had in mind, when He created me,
I can feel His very presence, as I look out across the sea,

For Lord it is truly only Your will, that I want to seek,
Because I have made the wrong choices, in most of my living,

No more fulfilling the lusts of this world, or believing Satan's lies,

In Your Greatness

As I sit here on this lovely beach, and feel Your Spirit flow across the water,
I pray that I would be the clay You mold, for You Lord are the potter,
And in the greatness of Your creation, I look out over the waves,

Just claiming You as my Savior, changed my eternity,
So I will ever proclaim it, and worship You on bended knee,
For sin completely surrounds me, tempting me with every breath I take,
But I dwell in Your protection Lord, for I know what is at stake,

And I seek Your love daily, growing more and more,
I will be humble before You, but in my faith I will be bold,
So the whole world will come to know You, the Savior of my soul.

Make It Last

Spending a few days at the beach, it's good to get away,
But the closer it gets to the time to go home, the more I want to stay,
For I've never seen anything more beautiful, pass before my face,
I may be selfish but sometimes I pray, God let me one day live in this place,
To watch the waves breaking and smelling the salt air, floating on the wind,
Every sunrise and sunset passing over the water, surely is my friend,
If there is a shower or maybe two, rainbows drop down from above,
Yet paradise is guaranteed to bless you daily, with all of its love,
So all of the minutes I stay around here, I try to make it last,
For the experience of every time I have visited, has really been a blast,
And every memory that I have made, I hope will never perish,
Because every trip I take to the beach, is something I will always cherish.

Excited

We need to get excited, about the Word God gives,
Our believing it needs to be reflected, in the life we live,
For if we are believers, we need to show it every day,
Not just sit around in our room, and read the Bible and pray,
The message that God gives us, always needs to be shared,
How will people come to know Jesus, if they don't know we care?
Because sometimes we are the only Bible, that some people read,
God will surely call and nurture them, if we will plant His seeds,
For God does not want any to perish, He wants to save them all,
And if we are in His will, we won't fail whenever He calls,
In my allowing Him to work in me, I become all He wants me to be,
So reading God's Word and stepping into His presence, will always excite me.

Obsessed

I am a believer, Jesus is my Savior, this is my daily confession,
And I will not yield to the evil one, Jesus is my only obsession,
For He has already done more for me, than anyone or anything,
In my worship and my praise, all glory and honor to Him I bring,
Every day of my existence on this earth, I get closer to my eternity,
And I want to be ready for my Jesus, and all He's prepared for me,
To fulfill the purpose God has for me, to ever do His will,
To tell as many as I can, that Heaven and hell are real,
And let them know that they make the decision, of where their soul will go,
So they will let their hearts be changed, and Jesus come to know,
For when their eyes are opened to the truth, it really is a revelation,
Then they too will come to understand, why Jesus is my obsession.

Freedom Blessing

Celebrating Independence Day reminds me, America is a great place,
And today I realize I am free, only by God's grace,
For all the brave men and women, all the battles they have won,
I am truly thankful and humbled by your sacrifice, all that you have done,
For by your bravery and vigilant watch, I can sleep in peace and without fear,
And I will stand and pledge my allegiance, when our nation's anthem I hear,
Watching Old Glory waving in the wind, is a wonderful sight,
I know it would not be there, without those standing ready to fight,
I am proud of this nation of my birth, this I will always confess,
And remember that it is all so beautiful, because God chose to bless,
For all America's warriors protecting me from evil, I will always pray,
Doing this daily so I will be able, to celebrate another Independence Day.

In Newness of Life

Lord may I never let a sinful thought, ever make me pause,
So the devil can step in, thinking I support his cause,
For sin is Satan's meat and potatoes, always his favorite meal,
As long as I am on this earth, he'll see how much of me he can steal,
Though he can not have my soul, he tries to damage my witness every day,
So I have to be vigilant and faithful, always walking in God's Way,
But if I open up just a crack, Satan will step through the door,
Reminding me of my past, things I don't partake of anymore,
And sometimes I realize, just how human I can be,
Satan needs to accept the fact, that saved and sanctified is the new me,
I am mighty in the Lord, not a sinner who is weak,
And my past is not my future, as long as it is Jesus that I seek.

Unique

To see someone saved or healed Lord, is a unique experience,
The closer I am to You, the more I expect Your Spirit's moving to commence,
For Lord I want to feel Your presence, each and every day,
And I do know You are near me, as I walk in Your Way,

But I am constantly resisting him, and only You Lord will I exalt,
You made the ultimate sacrifice for salvation, free for all to receive,

And I know when You call Your children Lord, I won't be left behind,
So in every part of my life, it is Jesus I will seek,
For Lord You perform the miraculous, and Lord You are unique.

Where I Will Stay

Life challenges me every day, in one way or another,
And the pressures brought to bear, makes me feel like I will smother,
The devil doesn't make it easy, for he wants me to fail,
He has reserved a special place for each of us, in a sinner's hell,
And he keeps throwing out temptations, wanting to possess my soul,
But since I've accepted God's salvation, that is something he cannot control,
The growing faith that I now have, sees me through each day,
And walking in God's Way, is the path on which I'll stay,
For I tried several other ways, being right where Satan wanted me to be,
But the straight and narrow one God showed me, truly set me free,
So I can now face each day, with the hope my Savior gave,
For He is truly greater than the devil, and He is mighty to save.

Inside My Heart

I know I do not write as well, as the writers of the Bible wrote,
Even though I'm trying to learn, there's not much of Your Word I can quote,
But Lord I am really trying, to ever live my life in Your will,
And as to my loving You, I know You know my heart, how I feel,
About You and all You've done and are doing, everyday for me,
Never returning to the bondage of my sin, after You have set me free,
As the sun casts a shadow behind me, may my sin be that way too,
Forgiven and forgotten in my past, since I Lord have found You,
As I look toward my eternity, the path looks oh so bright,
And I am ever drawn to You Lord, guided by Your glorious light,
How blessed I am in my salvation, sanctified and set apart,
And sharing with a lost world Lord, all You've put inside my heart.

Seek and Serve Him

The Word of God is living and powerful, something to live life by,
And if we use it as our guide, we'll see a difference, that is no lie,
It is full of truth and promises, not just stories told,
And it is full of saving healing, for any sinful soul,
It is wonderful to sit down, and pick each single verse apart,
To learn all I can about it, then store it in my heart,
As each day within this human body, seems to fly by in a blur,
I love to sit and spend some time with my Savior and let Him my spirit stir,
Now I cannot imagine, what Heaven has in store,
But compared to anything here I cherish, I've learned Heaven is much more,
This keeps me always giving thanks, that I'm forgiven for my sin,
Now I have a never ending desire, to seek and to serve Him.

I Realized

I looked toward the cross and then my hand, there was a hammer there,
Looking at Jesus hanging on that cross, realizing all my sins He came to bear,
With tears in my eyes I knew then, it was as if I had driven the nails,
I now understand this birth of salvation, the way to keep me out of hell,
I will never ever experience pain, like my Lord experienced pain,
Now every time I fail Him, I have to hang my head in shame,
For living like I used to live, is not something that needs to be repeated,
But I need to live my life in the reality, that the devil has been defeated,
Yet there are days I do not accomplish, what God's will is for me,
Still I pray everyday that my faith grows, so I become all He wants me to be,
I study God's Word to be nourished, so that my soul will thrive,
May the whole world know the cross wasn't the end, my Savior is alive.

Ultimately

When I was dead in my trespasses and sin, Jesus made me alive,
And living life within His will, has caused my life to thrive,
Of His grace and mercy, there is nothing that compares,
And He gives us so much love, that we overflow and have to share,
For God's blessings and His favor, follow after Christian living.
After Jesus gave so much, we should spare nothing in our giving,
And our salvation story, should be something we always tell,
To help save a sinner's soul, and keep them out of hell,
So let us worship the one, who changed our eternity,
Who will point us if we let Him, to all we need to be,
Let us ever remember, that Jesus paid sin's deadly price,
His love for us the reason, for His being our ultimate sacrifice.

Stayed

Lord You have brought me to this place, to help set the captive free,
And I will not let the problems of this earth, ever hinder me,
The devil always tries to take me, back to my old ways,
But I choose to ignore him, and worship the one I praise,

And anything contrary to my faith, well it will have to cease,
My hope is in my salvation, there is no room for stress,
So I will daily do God's will, and allow Him to bless,
Now I seek God's kingdom, and His holy righteousness first,
For Lord it is for Your truth, that I always thirst,
So I will live this earthly life, knowing You will see me through,

Praising the Amazing

Hebrews tells me that the Word of God, is living and powerful,
And there is not one word in it, that I would ever dare cull,
The Word of God also works effectively, in all those who believe,
And I'm thankful without ceasing, for all those who have God's salvation received,
Worldly things mean nothing, so I will not set my mind on things of the flesh,
For I have to set it on things above, if I ever expect to be blessed,
The pace of life in this world, passes almost like a blur,
So I have to change from my normal course, and just stop to consider,
And as the devil wants us to be afraid, sit in a corner and cower,
Lord I choose to stand in my faith, and live my life in Your power,
Spending as much time with You Lord, worshipping and praising,
For living life through Your Holy Word, it is truly amazing.

My Main Priority

Lord I am thankful I am growing in You, for none of You I want to miss,
I'll never return to the place, where I could have delivered the Judas kiss,
For my life was a betrayal, until I really came to know You,
During that time if I had any righteous thoughts, they were very few,
But I did want to pray my sins off of me, each and every day,
But in developing a relationship with You Lord, I found a better way,
For You died for my salvation, on a cruel rugged cross,
If I had not accepted it, my soul would be eternally lost,
But now I have the assurance, of a Heavenly eternity,
And I can't praise You enough Lord, for all You have done for me,
Just knowing that You are for me, ever stirs my heart up still,
That is why my main priority, is constantly seeking Your will.

Oh Calvary

There is nothing negative about Calvary, nothing to subtract,
The cross looks like a plus sign, and it adds to our life, that's a fact,
And God only removes those things, that need to be taken away,
For there is only good and bad, no areas that are gray,
We cannot worship God, and seek the world's way too,
I hope you know God has a special plan, designed for only you,
For in the realm of His kingdom, you have a special place,
There is more than living and dying, more than our taking up space,
You are His child if you’ve accepted Him as Savior, and He wants you to do your part,
He wants you to share His love, which He has placed within your heart,
Just as we have received, we too should freely give,
For even one Christian affects every lost soul they meet, by the way they live.

We Are of God

How wonderful to know I am of God, and that I have overcome,
For greater is He that is in me, and mighty victories He has won,
And how powerful is His Word, may it saturate my very soul,
For only His salvation can forgive my sins, and truly make me whole,
So I read the Bible to learn, all the truths it will reveal,
And find He doesn't only save me, but also through Him I am healed,
God wants all the lost to know Him, to remove their blindness so they can see,
That through Jesus dying on a cross, from sin's bondage they can be free,
So all praise, honor, and glory, I give to Jesus Christ my Lord,
For He has given me a gift, something I never could afford,
Now as I walk in His will every day, knowing He guards the path I trod,
I will spend all of my eternity realizing, that I truly am of God.

Never Too Old

I woke up this morning, and something told me I had gotten old,
And it has seemed the summers are hotter, and the winters are so cold,
These old bones are creaking more, and my muscles aren't strong as before,
If I ever get down on it, well it sure is harder getting up off the floor,
All these last several years it sure seems, I have been more tired,
And I don't know if I convinced myself, but I'm finally going to retire,
But you know it seems here lately, that God is oh so near,
And it seems that living for Him, is something that has grown more dear,
As I have found salvation in Him, I've found my healing in Him too,
Now getting old and retiring is not so bad, if You believe God's Word is true,
And I'm realizing that even if I'm old like Abraham, God can call me still,
So I am taking step by step every day, always walking in His will.

Soak Me Lord

Lord I want Your presence to saturate, all of my very being,
So I will be in Your will, in all my doing, saying, hearing, and seeing,
For I want to fill my life, with only the things I should,
To ever turn away from evil, and only seek the good,

So the world can see Your redemption in me, and the salvation that You bring,
For John says that God so loved the world, that His only Son He gave,
The whole world needs to realize, that He is the only way to be saved,
And we are to be the messengers, God's story of love to share,
For on earth we are the primary way, for the lost to know how much God cares,
So fill me Lord and soak me, be righteousness in me,
For the fields are ripe for harvesting, waiting to be guided into Your eternity.

More Better Than Good

Though life is never perfect, it's always good, of this I'm sure,
I just need to keep positive thoughts, as God helps me to endure,
Whatever the devil throws at me, it's something every day,
To have more strength and wisdom, I will ever pray,
So You Lord can easily show me, the way You would have me go,
And You Lord can easily teach me, all You want me to know,
For to draw closer to perfection, Lord Your will I need to do,
There's no way that I can do that Lord, unless I keep my eyes on You,

I hope it is always reflected, in this life I live,
And Lord I want my heart to be clean and pure, every time You check,

Lord all I've learned throughout my life, and everything I've heard,
Have not affected me, like what You've taught me through Your Word,
For since I brought all my sins before You, and every one confessed,
You have really changed my life, and I am truly blessed,
I know there is none other, who could make my heart brand new,
But You've made me a new creation, and I'll never stop praising You,
Now I have the peace of knowing, my soul is safe through eternity,
And Lord I will not fear the devil, as long as You are protecting me,
I will reach out in Your love, showing Your Way to the lost,
So they will know that for everyone's salvation, You paid the total cost,
For from the bondage sin holds us in, all need to be set free,
That none would miss even one bit Lord, of Your precious glory.

Choose You This Day

Even though my human body disappears, so there is no trace of me,
My soul will always be around, it will last through eternity,
And it is up to me to make the decisions, where my soul will go,
I have chosen eternal life in Jesus, whom I have come to know,
So please do not ignore the truth, that I seek to tell,
Yes there really is a Heaven, and there really is a hell,
But we all have a choice to make, of which road we will trod,
And I pray you choose the one, that leads you straight to God,
Just as I have chosen salvation, you too will choose your fate,
May you also accept salvation, before it is too late,
So will it be forever in Heaven's glory, or forever in hell's fires,
Follow my lead and choose Jesus, make Him your heart's desire.

The Difference

I pray for understanding, as You share wisdom from above,
Rejecting this world's way, and Lord walking in Your wonderful love,
For in my earthly life, Your Word has made the difference,

I realize that I am just a very small part, of this human race,
But every little small piece is needed, for the puzzle to be completed,
And every Christian needs to be alert, so that the devil can be defeated,

For in reading it to learn more of You, truly sets my soul on fire,
Now I will seek my eternity in You, not what's on the other side of the fence,
Because Lord it is Your Holy Word, that really makes the difference.

In His Peace

Even in the worst storm, when I face my fears,
I can find a peace Lord, in knowing You are near,
For my sins are ever present, and the devil is always after me,

That is why with all my heart, I place all my trust in You,
But if You ever decide that it is time, to call me to Your side,
Lord I can honestly say that is the place, I want to ultimately abide,
So I choose to learn more about You, as to me You become more real,
And my prayer is that I don't pursue my way, but ever seek Your will,
For that is the only way I can become, everything You want me to be,
And I know eternity will be sweeter and kinder, since You have set me free.

Run From Evil

Lord give me the wisdom in my life, to know to run from any evil,
For the devil's presence in this world, is so very real,
He wants to draw us in, so he can kill, steal, and destroy,
For He has no regard for the being, of any man, woman, girl, or boy,
But a good thing to remember, is that angels are always nearby,
And I pity the soul that rejects, the reason why Jesus came to die,
The closer one draws to the Savior, the harder the devil fights,
For he does not want anyone, walking in God's Heavenly light,
So every second of our lives, we need to be alert and aware,
And constantly seek our God's will, finding out how much He cares,
Now keep the faith, and let us always, keep our thoughts on things above,
And never ever underestimate, the power of God's love.

He is My Focus

I love the fellowship, praise, worship, and learning that we have in church,
And the reason that I come, is that I have completed my search,
I have found that being a Christian, is right where I should be,
From the bondage of my sin, I have truly been set free,

And make Him a constant presence in my life, every single day,
Lord I have those moments, when I don't do things just right,
So I am thankful for Your grace and mercy, and Your guiding light,

God Smiled

I don't know what tomorrow holds, so I will live for today,
And hope I am prepared to face it, as I seek God's will and pray,

Watching and Praying

This has been a long week, everything about it seemed so wrong,
And the devil came a calling, trying to prove that he was strong,
I felt wrapped up in his death and destruction, hour after hour,
But I know even in the whole of it, it doesn't compare to my Lord's power,
And even in mourning the outcome, especially with those who lost everything,
I will never yield to the devil, but will praise God for good things,
All of my earthly troubles will vanish, when Jesus Christ I see,
For through it all His being my anchor, gives hope and peace to me,
I am so thankful for the mercy and grace, that He always gives,
And I believe I will be in His presence, as soon as I cease this life to live,
But then Jesus may decide to take me, even as soon as today,
So that is why I am ready, and always watch and pray.

If I were to be quiet about You Lord, the lifeless stones would all cry out,
But in the faith I have in You, there is no room for doubt,
For who else has ever risen up, and walked out of the tomb?

Of the master plan You have, for changing people's hearts,
To have the mind of a servant, is where I want to be,

Now I never want to give the stones, a reason to cry out,

Seeking My Purpose

Oh Lord the warmth of Your presence, can the coldest heart thaw,
And in the glory of Your creation, Lord I always stand in awe,
How can anyone question, the miracles and wonders that You do?

But Lord many times You have raised Your hand, and calmed the seas so rough,
I find peace and hope, if I have faith and seek Your will,
And I know that even if I slip, Lord You love me still,
Tomorrow when the sun rises up, I'll thank You for another day,
But I can never be grateful enough, for Your leading me into Your Way,
For You have removed me from sin's bondage, and truly set me free,
So now I will earnestly seek the purpose, that You have for me.

He is Alive

We need to live our lives today, as though Jesus was right by our side,
And walk the straight and narrow, avoiding the one so easy and so wide,
For the devil would have us believe, that Jesus is still dead,
But I choose to believe He is resurrected, that He is alive instead,
And that He paid the ultimate price, to forgive all of my sins,
That is why I have decided, to place all my faith in Him,
For if I went to look, I would find an empty grave,
So how can I trust anyone else, with my soul to save?
For He gave His life to erase, all the bad things I have done,
I have accepted His salvation, it was a major victory won,
I will bow before Him, thankful for the reason that He died,
And I will seek to serve Him forever, my Savior, He's alive.

No Hesitation

I can almost hear the hammer ringing, as it drives in the nails,
That held my Savior to a cross, so I would not go to hell,
The sacrifice of innocent blood, to pay the price of sin,
Salvation bought, then offered, as a new place to begin,
To a lost and dying world, looking to religion to be saved,
Not knowing the one only true way, came through the life that Jesus gave,
Now in my mind's eye may I not stray, from the shadow of the cross,
For I realize it is the place, that rescued me from eternal loss,
And I can never say thank you enough Lord, for everything that You have done,
Satan was defeated, an everlasting victory was won,
So when I am thinking about Easter, and Your dying there for me,
Lord I'll remember You didn't hesitate, in giving Your life to set me free.

Just For One

Are you the one the Shepherd left the ninety-nine to find?
For He is faithful in His seeking, and would not have one left behind,
And this Shepherd became a lamb, the final sacrifice for sin,
He truly is our only salvation, if we will just call on Him,
On His grace and mercy, He has never placed any restriction,
So may my loving Him, be my only addiction,
I have tried many things in life, and only received a temporary thrill,
But I've found there is no feeling, like being in the middle of God's will,
So may doing what Jesus wants me to do, become a habit for me,
For I want to live my life, showing what I truly believe,
I can never repay my Savior, for all that He has done,
And though He died for all, He would have done it just for one.

Getting Ready

As I look at the beauty of Your creation here, I know Heaven holds much more,
And even though I stretch my mind I still can't grasp, all that is in store,
I am sure that Heaven is so wonderful, nothing here compares,
There are no words to describe it, it's way beyond my knowing to share,
But I do know there's nothing here on earth, worth our taking there,
For when we get there everything will be new, even what we wear,
So we need to be ready for the time, when this place we leave,
And I hope our absence is the only thing, that our loved ones grieve,
For our eternity will be filled, with worshipping and praise,
And that will never cease, no matter how long our eternal days,
So I want to live my life so I'll be rewarded, for what I have done here,
But the hope of Heaven living with my Jesus, is a thought I will always hold dear.

Walk the Walk

They say that talk is cheap and it is easy, to just talk the talk,
But I want to do more than talk the talk, I want to always walk the walk,
For it's more than getting all dressed up, and going to church on Sunday,
And it's more than giving an offering, and kneeling down to pray,
Because Jesus came to earth and for all, His life freely gave,
That not one should perish but have the opportunity, to be saved,
So in every step I step, every word I say, and every breath I take,
I will seek to stay within God's will, because there is so much at stake,
For any cross I bear will never be as heavy, as the one Jesus had to bear,
The salvation birthed by His sacrifice, is the message I will share,
So letting Him have control of my whole life, is not too much to give,
For everyone should be able to see my relationship with Him, in the life I live.

The Place I Want to Stay

Though I am not promised tomorrow, I am thankful for today,
I've gotten used to this place called earth, but it is not where I will stay,
For Jesus has promised me a better place, since I've accepted Him,

Eternity is waiting for my arrival, I'll be living with Christ my King,
And when I get there I will have forever, to praise Him and to sing,
It will be so glorious and wonderful, to walk the streets of gold,

And my heart overflows with love, just knowing Jesus is near,
So I will always seek Him, and out of His presence never stray,

I realize more and more, that death and life are only a heartbeat away,
And as some are leaving this life, there are new ones born each day,
How precious are the saints Lord, who have pointed us to You,
Also precious are the babies, so beautiful and brand new,

But I am also thankful in knowing, that You are creating still,
As the elders taught me Lord, about all that You have done,
The little ones show me how I should be, when to You I come,

As I walk through this earthly life, filled with all kinds of sin,
I have to focus on Jesus, and keep my eyes on Him,
For it is just a short step, to fall back to my past,

Lord just by a few simple words, You spoke this earth into existence,
And Lord You sought my heart, in spite of all of my resistance,
There was a time I seldom thought of You, this world pulled me away,

I am able to withstand Satan's fiery trials, because You protect me too,

Yet I can be thankful for them, every single time I pray,

Lord I am only human, and I know You give me a choice,

Lord as I deal with this life, in a world full of confusion,

Lord what is that shadow I just saw, out of the corner of my eye?
Is that an angel guarding me, hovering nearby?

Old Glory Is Still Waving

How wonderful it is, to live in the land of liberty,
Where we are not oppressed as we worship, for we are truly free,
For I can not imagine, dying for what I have come to believe,

And how can I not remember, those by whom the ultimate sacrifice was given?
Yet as we stand against our enemies, we need to fight the evil within,

That is why we need to depend on God, and always to Him pray,
So I will be ever grateful, for this land of the free and of the brave,

Eternal Worship

I can walk every day, without fear of my eternity,
Because of a Savior who hung on a cross, while He was thinking of me,

Now even if I walk through the valley, I know I am not alone,

Lord I learn and grow, as Your Holy Word I read,

Lord just let one drop of Your glory, fall on me from Heaven above,
For I want to feel Your wonderful presence and walk within Your love,

No Sinful Thought

When a sinful thought enters my mind Lord, will You just push it on through,
For I don't want to dwell on it, but want to keep my focus on You,
If I am to live by the Spirit, then by the Spirit I will walk,
So may all my actions reflect You, in how I act and talk,
When I am in Your presence, and the Spirit starts to flow,
There's not any room for Satan, so he will just have to go,
For I chose to live my life, on a higher plane,
And within the will of God, is where I want to remain,
I have tried the things Satan offered, decided it's not where I want to be,
For when I accepted Jesus as my Savior, I found this is the place for me,
So I will fill my mind with God's Word, and seek more of Him each day,
For it doesn't take a genius to figure out, Jesus is the only Way.

Still

For the most part it's smooth sailing, on the sea of life,
And I would rather it be that way, and not have to deal with strife,
But there are times when something rocks the boat, making me a little queasy,
And then I have to face the facts, surviving ain't always easy,
Yet as the waters roll over me, chilling me to the bone,
And I feel sorry for myself, thinking all hope is gone,
There's a small voice within that asks me, who controls your soul,
And I come to my senses and realize, that my anchor holds,
For Jesus is my anchor, no matter what I may face,
And He is always with me, all the time and any place,
Life cannot always be tranquil, its winds and waves are real,
But Jesus looks out over my life's troubled sea, and says peace be still.

He Said I Forgive

As I look back over my life, I've done some things folks won't forgive me,
I thought it was a part of growing up, to become what I wanted to be,
Six days a week were mine, as long as I gave the Lord Sunday,
I guess I was kind of stubborn, but I liked to have my way,
Sin was a part of my everyday life, and I had no regrets,
I did not at that time realize, I was building an eternal debt,
Then one day I met Jesus, and He became more than just a name,
He took control of my heart, and my life will never be the same,
My religion was very lukewarm, and double-minded I had been,
But My religion became a relationship, when Jesus saved me from my sins,
I went to the Lord on humble knees, seeking change from the way I lived,
And in spite of all my sins I heard Him say those precious words, I forgive.

Growing Into Knowing

Lord in Your growing my faith, may I become what You want me to be,
And by being planted in Your Word, may I be a fruitful tree,
So others may taste the glory, found only in You,
To experience Your salvation, so You can make them brand new,
As a tree Lord You keep me healthy, for You are always the cure,
For by Your stripes I am made well and saved, of this I’m absolutely sure,
I am thankful for the forgiveness, that You always give,
And I pray it always shows, in the way I live,
For some will never enter a church, or the Bible read,
So Lord I will be Your sower, and plant salvation's seed,
And You can nourish it tenderly, so that it will grow,
For Lord it is my heart's desire, that You they come to know.

Always the Same

Lord as to my growing spiritually, You truly are the reason,
For I have found Your love for me, is always in season,
You are my one true constant, and You are ever the same,
Forever in Your presence, is where I seek to remain,
For outside of You the whole world, seems to be falling apart,
But whatever happens on this earth, Lord I know You hold my heart,
I will with a true passion, seek to know Your will,
And if I were to stumble, Lord I know You love me still,
For I am not a perfect human being, and can do some things so wrong,
But in my growing in You Lord, my faith continues strong,
So in walking through this earthly existence, to You I will be true,
And with all of my being, I will show my love to You.

Not to Be Feared

If my life were to end today, and I stepped into eternity,
I have the faith to know, I'd be right where I want to be,
Into the presence of my Savior, standing by His side,
A utopia of a paradise, where I will forever abide,
And I will see my loved ones, whom I haven't seen in years,
A gift beyond description, when their voices again I hear,
A place where I can spend each minute, in worship and in praise,
Of the one who truly saved me, in His honor my hands I raise,
For He cleaned up my life, of which I had made a mess,
And I will bow in His presence, for my life is now so blessed,
So in hearing some proclaim, that the end of this world is near,
I will stand prepared for Heaven, it is not something that I fear.

Obedience

Lord when I hear You speaking, may I always obey,
For in hearing Your Word, You give my life direction by what You say,
You are the greatest teacher, may I Your student be,
So I will find everything, that You have in store for me,
For You Lord plan good things for me, not anything that's bad,
And You Lord want me to be happy, never depressed and sad,
And on the days when it seems, this world is falling apart,
I will have no fear, for You Lord guard my heart,
So may I never do anything, to ever cause You shame,
For it is me that changes, but You Lord always remain the same,
Now may I ever seek Your will, every single day,
And may I listen so I will hear You, and may I always obey.

Submitting to Him

Lord I pray that in my living, I don't rebel but I submit,
For I know Your will for my life, will always be a perfect fit,
Before I ever met You, I existed in rebellion,
But when I made You my Savior, I experienced a revelation,
And I saw the whole truth, that You presented to me,
So to worship in Your holiness, I bow down on bended knee,
For I don't want to do anything, unless it honors You,
So I want to live my life, reflecting Your making my heart brand new,
I know growing in my faith, is a wonderful daily process,
And as I am maturing in it, I can see how much You bless,
Now as the world rushes closer each day, toward their eternity,
I am thankful mine is secure, since I submitted my life to Thee.
