Surrendering

Lord when I ignore Your will, and give in to an old sin's urge,
Forgive me for my ignorance, and all my temptations purge,
For I would not regress, and let my heart again grow cold,
But I would look to You, and let You keep the fire lit in my soul,
Because I surrendered all, when I gave You total control,
And I know that in Your hands, it is my eternity You hold,
Lord in my humanity, help me remember I am a spiritual being,
For if I become double-minded, then Your truth I am not seeing,
So now I fall down onto my knees, and repent before Your throne,
Knowing You have wiped the slate clean, and all my sins are gone,
Now Lord let Your process in my life, be to constantly renew,
And I'll be ever conscious of my salvation, and Lord keep all my thoughts on You.
