Free in Jesus

I’d been living pretty good, so I figured Satan would gear up for a fight,
But he was a sly old devil, he came at me in the night,
He threw everything he could at me, especially my past,
In my mind I felt I was slipping, so I had to act real fast,
So I called out to my Savior, Jesus, and I fell down on my knees,
His hand reached out and touched me, the one that calmed the seas,
And I felt a peace around me, and the temptation went away,
It was not the very first time, as Satan hangs around each day,
And that old devil would like nothing better, than to tear my life apart,
But the love of God surrounds me, so Satan can never touch my heart,
As much as the devil tries to shackle me, Jesus Christ has set me free,
And I know that Jesus will protect me, throughout eternity.
