Divine Living

I study Your Word daily Lord, for spiritually it is delicious,
And to my spiritual health, it is truly nutritious,
For it is absolutely essential, to the well being of my soul,
So to be ever in Your will Lord, is my daily goal,
And I always want to abide, within Your divine health,
Also You supply all my needs, from Your Heavenly wealth,
Life is filled with good things, when I walk with You,
You never break Your promises, You are righteous, faithful, and true,
All praise, honor, and glory, I give to You, it's Yours,
For You make this earthly life livable, so I can endure,
Hallelujah for Jesus the perfect sacrifice, who died for all my sins,
Now I will lift His name up and bless Him, again and again and again.

For Eternity

Jesus came down to earth, just to rescue you and me,
So He could save our souls, and change our eternity,
For we were so lost in our sins, that hell was almost in sight,
Then Jesus in His infinite mercy, shined on us His glorious light,
And guided us out of the night, into His wonderful way,
He showed us His plan for our lives, was to be lived every day,
For how can we show others Jesus, if we live the way they do,
When we should be living our lives, like we have been made brand new,
Yes we truly have been changed, through God's revelation,
That Jesus died on a cross, creating the plan for our salvation,
Now He's seated at God's right hand, awaiting our arrival,
But until we get there, may we live in a constant state of revival.

Be Prepared

Lord let my mindset always be, that my heart is prepared,
To take any opportunity You give, so Your wonderful love I share,
For there are many in this world, that have not experienced Your love,
And some that don't even acknowledge, that there is a God above,
Lord I am the instrument, along with other Christians, that is to tell,
This lost world about You, that only You can keep them out of hell,
Life is much too short to waste, chasing after worldly things,
To not share Your salvation, and the joy and peace it brings,
So they will be assured, of where they will spend eternity,
That with You in Heaven, is the only place to be,
Now I will study Your Word and pray, so my heart is truly prepared,
So through me Lord You can show this world, just how much You care.

The Best Living

In all the being of my living, may I in Your will Lord always remain,
And may I ever seek the spiritual, and not toil for earthly gain,
For everything on this earth Lord, will fade away, will rot, or rust,
But in the things of Heaven, I can ever put my trust,
Because You will never steer me, to a place I should not be,
And to the devil's deceptions, You've opened my eyes so I can see,
That all of his temptations, will take me down a wide and sinful road,
But You Lord take me down the straight and narrow, helping ease my load,
I believe You give me an extra measure, of Your mercy and Your grace,
And I can feel Your presence each step with me, as I run life's race,
As I seek to know You more, there's lots to learn about you still,
But the best thing I've come to know is, living is better within Your will.

The Shepherd of Our Souls

As the shepherds were tending their flocks, as they did every night,
Suddenly the sky was filled, with a glorious light,
Though frightened, the angels told them of our Savior's birth,
And comforted them in revealing, why Jesus came to earth,
So they would know that in their presence, they were in no danger,
But told them where to find the baby, lying in a manger,
As a Heavenly host sang glory to God, and on earth peace to all men,
I wonder if the shepherds knew, this baby came to save all from their sins,
As I read what's called the Christmas story, such a wonderful thing,
It fills my heart with joy and love, and makes me want to sing,
Is this a sign the reason, why shepherds were the first ones told,
Because now we as believers find, Jesus is the shepherd of our souls.

Be Careful

In humility and to praise You Lord, I enter into Your sanctuary,
Praying that You fill the room, and evidence of Your power I see,
Shirking all the devil's ugliness, and wallowing in Your beauty,
Living my life to show, the change You've made in me,
Not letting anything in this human realm, keep me from worshiping You,
And not believing anything, unless You Lord show me it's true,
For I don't want the presence of sin, to ever drag me down,
Especially since Your glorious salvation, is the gift that I have found,
So to know Your peace and hope, and more of You is why I've come,
For I really can't be free, if I'm outside of Your freedom,
Though Christmas and Easter are special, I need to seek You Lord every day,
For it is too dangerous in this place, for me to walk outside Your Way.

My Shepherd

The Lord truly is my shepherd, in His will nothing I do without,
And as He guides my way, in my faith there is no doubt,
For on my own I wandered aimlessly, living in the night,
Until I found You Jesus, and stepped into Your glorious light,
And realized that life in You, is a much better way,
Also it's great to know You hear me, every time I pray,
When the devil tries to attack me, wanting to pull me down,
I remind him that he is nothing, compared to this treasure I have found,
But Satan never gives up, so I am constantly aware,
And in the times of my greatest trouble, I find out how much my God cares,
Still when life is like you can't see the forest, because of all the trees,
I do not fear the valley of the shadow, for You Lord shepherd me.

For All You Do

Oh Lord for all You do, I will thank You without ceasing,
For each day my faith in You, is spiritually increasing,
Your Word works effectively in me, because in You I ever do believe,
And in my believing everything You are, Your favor I continually receive,
In the choice of life or death, it is eternal life I choose,
For to choose any other way, one will eternally just lose,
Lord You deliver me each day, from all my spiritual enemies,
And in my earthly blindness Lord, through Your eyes the truth I see,
May my performance as a Christian, always be at its peak,
For in everything I do, it is Your holy will I seek,
Use me Lord in every way, to help lost souls to repent,
For I want my witness, to be about You one hundred percent.

In His Hands

Lord I've come to realize how precious life is, even in the womb,
And You Lord know its future, even before that life has bloomed,
If that life prematurely leaves, and enters Heaven above,
I know Lord that You will cuddle it, and wrap it in a blanket of love,
When I do not understand, Lord I know You will help me see,
The truth and in the seeing, Your peace will abide in me,
As I trust You with my life Lord, I trust You with my loved ones too,
And know You will guide me in Your Way, in all I say and do,
I feel Your presence Lord, when Satan tries to fill my life with sadness,
But my joy is in You Lord, and You fill my heart with gladness,
So in anything I face in this life, Lord by You I will ever stand,
For I want my eternity to be, only in Your hands.

God is Always Able

God is always able to do, just what He says He will do,
All His promises He will fulfill, and He will never give up on me and you,
And no matter how far I wander away from Him, He is still right there,
For there is no end to His love, no explaining how much He really cares,
God sent His only Son, so I could live eternally through Him,
So I could receive His salvation, forgiveness for all my sins,
Oh precious lamb of God, how could I say anything but holy, holy, holy?
Who has called me from the depths of my sin, to be a part of all His glory,
He has brought me to a place, where my faith in Him is steadfast and sure,
So I will never forget His cross, and all the pain and suffering He had to endure,
All praise be to my Savior, seated next to God, once born in a lowly stable,
For He allows me to face life fearlessly, because I serve a God who is able.

My Desire

To You oh Lord, who has measured out the whole of all the earth,
Who has given me a salvation, that is of priceless worth,
The Ancient of Days, the great I Am, so powerful and true,
I celebrate this life of faith, that I have found in You,

I bow humbly in Your presence, to Your mercy seat I run,

But You said it is a free gift, on Your cross payment has been made,
You have paid it all for everyone, if only they receive,
I am truly sorry Lord for those, who never will believe,
Help me be a witness, to help some of the lost avoid hell's fire,
So like me they too will make You, their one and only desire.

More Than a Christmas Tree

Let everything that has breathe, praise the Lord,
For He has paid the price for our sins, that we could not afford ,
Jesus left His Heavenly throne, and came to earth,
Born in a dirty stable, as angels glorified His birth,
The shepherds shaken by this, but still they came to see,
The Christ child in a manger, a cross part of His destiny,
Then the wise men came to behold Him, and they came from afar,
Bringing special gifts to Him, their journey guided by a glorious star,
Mary knew He was a special baby, who would a Savior be,
I'm thankful that as He was calling sinners, He included me,
The free gift salvation gives, is living with Jesus throughout eternity,
So I will live life with my eyes on His cross, not on a Christmas tree.

To Give Them Jesus

As we enter the Christmas season, and put on an attitude of giving,
I think what's to keep us from being this way, every day we're living,
It seems that what money we have or make, does not even play a part,
But I believe even the smallest thing, should be given from the heart,
For there are people everywhere every day, who have unfulfilled necessary needs,
So it should be a constant thing, our wanting to do good deeds,
And some have to always struggle, their daily existence filled with strife,
This should be part of our goal as believers, to help them to sustain life,
At this special time of year, love is the greatest gift,
For love birthed our salvation, and will one's spirit lift,
So may we share the joy we experience, in this Christmas season,
And in our giving may others learn, that Jesus is the reason.

Why He Was Born

Just as anyone would celebrate, their new baby's birth,
As we remember Jesus', may we also remember why He came to earth,
His earthly mission included, to heal, to teach, and to preach,
Showing compassion, sharing His love, as this sinful world He sought to reach,
Birthing true salvation, as He died at Calvary,
Pouring out His life's blood, as He thought of me,
Now could I give Him anything less, than my everything?
So as I come into His sanctuary, my very heart I bring,
Knowing He is constructing for me, a place in eternity,
But while I am still here, I pray He uses my God-given special creativity,
So I can help the lost, know how much salvation is worth,
So that soul can be saved, and know the real reason for Your birth.

I Am His

Lord even when it's cold outside, You truly warm our hearts,
And You set our souls on fire, as You have set us apart,
You are Emanuel, and there is nobody greater than You,
I can place my trust in none other, for Your words and promises are ever true,
In my darkest moments, Lord I know You are nearby,
So each and every day, I will lift Your name on high,
When we come together as believers, and our voices raise,
It is only to thank You, and to bless You with our praise,
Now may we be attentive to Your Word, and always seek Your will,
For You are the hope of our future, and just in You our faith is real,
So when the devil tries to draw me into his world, one so dark and cold,
I will remind him in Your name, that it is You who owns my soul.

Good Old Long Johns

The tree stands naked in the yard, all its leaves are gone,
And Autumn has changed to Winter, I can hear the wind as it moans,
I wonder what the next weather front will bring, it could very well be snow,
Down here in Alabama, one just never knows,
White roads are scary, because it seems no one knows how to drive,
And between the white ones and the wet ones, I'm thankful to be alive,
This time of year I reverse my thinking, and would rather it be hot,
Than to have the flu and be laid up in bed, coughing and blowing snot,
It surely is football weather, good to see them boys break the huddle,
I don't know if there is any more love, but it seems the Mrs. wants to cuddle,
I guess if the vacation didn't get all my money, then Christmas surely will,
But this is the only time of the year, that I realize how good long johns feel.

Good Christian Sense

I pray Lord that my mind would be clear, free of all the clutter,
And that my thoughts will be pure, and I keep my mind out of the gutter,
Because the devil tries to keep the road of life slippery, so that I will slip,
But I will seek God's will, so that only His truth comes through my lips,
For I do not want to cause anyone, to seek a different way,
Than God's, Lord help me help them find You I pray,
And may I be single minded, and don't let it become doubled,
Because if I do, then that is when I start getting into the most trouble,
Life is way too short, for me to want to straddle the fence,
So Lord help me to be wise, to have good common Christian sense,
And may my fellow believers lift me up, so I can lift You up too,
For Lord all I want to do in my life, are all the things that honor You.

Shout It Loud

Lord I pray I don't fall for the devil's deceptions, and become full of pride,
But that I always would be humble, and in Your will abide,
For I need to seek You only, and spend more time on my knees,
And in my mind, body, and soul determine, that just You I want to please,
For the devil knows where I am weak, what causes me to fall,
May I resist all his temptations, so my life reflects that You are Lord of all,
And if I should tend to look back, to where I walked in my sin's night,
Let me remember the cost of my salvation, and walk in Your glorious light,
You have forgiven all my wrongs, and I don't want You to have to do it again,
So I pray I can be strong, and not fall back into my sin,
Yet as I control my pride Lord, of You I will be proud,
And I will shout it long, and I will shout it loud.

As I Worship

As I worship You Lord, it is only You I want to see,
And as I do, I want You to look at the heart in me,
So You will see it is true praise, that I lift up to You,
That You would fill the sanctuary so much, that I could not stay in my pew,
You are the creator of all I see, and You know everything,
So as I come into Your presence, I can't help but stand and sing,
And I know Lord that You are with me, because You are everywhere,
And through revelation in my salvation, I realize how much You care,
For there is no one like You God, this I surely know,
So wherever You may send me, I pray that it is You my living shows,
Because I would not want to be any other, than what You want me to be,
So as I worship oh Lord my God, it is surely just You I want to see.

To Bless You

As the good Lord has blessed me, so I want also to bless You,
For God does not want me to be selfish, but to share is what He wants me to do,
As I walk in God's favor, each day I find out more what a great place it is to live,
But it is not just for my taking, but it is also there for me to give,
Many people in this world, do not recognize God's mercy and grace,
So we as believers need to spread God's love around, to make this a better place,
The Thanksgiving and Christmas season, seems to make us more aware,
We need to let the poor and needy, know just how much we care,
But the needs are always there Lord, each and every single day,
And it's good to do, but there's more to it, than just stopping to pray,
So whether you are an old friend, or one who is brand new,
I truly believe it is God's will, as I've been blessed to bless you.

Lord I come humbly into Your presence, and bow down before Your throne,
I am eternally thankful, that any thought of my sin is gone,

To Exalt Him

The moon hid behind the clouds this morning, but I knew that it was there,
And I thought Lord You are my hiding place, and I'm reminded how much You care,
For You take away all my anxieties, anything that I may fear,

And tomorrow does not trouble me, as I look to You today,
For I can feel Your very presence, every time I pray,
The fellowship is sweet, among the Christian sisters and brothers,

In His Light

The full moon laid up on a fluffy cloud, oh what a glorious sight,
There are uncountable beautiful stars, scattered all through the night,
And I can feel God's Spirit, in the gentle wind that's blowing,
Just this simple scene, would cause me to believe in a God who is all knowing,
Do people think all this majesty, just happened to appear?
I humbly bow on my knees Lord, knowing that You are so near,
For I know God that all I see, was created by Your mighty hand,
And it is only by Your mercy and grace, that on Your green earth I stand,
I am just one breath away, from seeing You face to face,
But I am still here because You have a special reason, for my being in this place,
So I will glory in Your creation, as my eyes soak up this glorious sight,
And I will be ever thankful, that You allow me to walk in Your wonderful light.

What Thanksgiving is All About

What is our life but a vapor, here for a short while, and then it passes away,
That is why we need to make the most, out of each and every day,
To reach out to this old world, which is dying and very lost,
We need to tell them about our Savior, and how He has paid sin's cost,
That there is more than just this life, that there is an eternity,
And that Jesus is preparing a place in Heaven, just for you and me,
But we have to believe in Him, accept that He died for all our sins,
From His virgin birth to Calvary, we need to know all about Him,
May we never forget the price He paid, for our liberty,
What He had to suffer, so we could truly be set free,
For as a believer, I will never have any doubts,
That this is really what our Thanksgiving, should be all about.

In Thanksgiving

Oh Lord You are my Savior, and through You I have atonement,
My sins are all forgiven, because I called on You and did repent,
I pray You would continually cleanse me, from all the evil that tempts my soul,
For of my being I would let no other, but You Lord have control,
So that I will not be weak, and give in to my desires,
Because I know Your truth, and I've found that the devil is a liar,
And everyday Lord can be a challenge, if I don't keep my eyes on You,
If I don't let You guide me, in everything I say and do,
Thank You for protecting me, for through You I can be strong,
My faith helps me stay in Your Way, right where I belong,
For You are my hope and peace, the very reason for my living,
So for all You do Lord, I will live in a constant state of thanksgiving.

God Speaks

Sometimes it seems I want so much, just to hear God speak,
The true will of God for my life, is what I truly seek,
For none other has the answers, that I need to hear,
And none is so compassionate and loving, that's why I want Him near,
Our sacrifice to God, should be doing good and caring,
And His message of salvation, we need to earnestly be sharing,
I don't need to make anything in my life Lord, more important than You,
For I put all my faith in You, show me what to say and do,

And like clay in the potter's hand, may He mold me into what He needs me to be,
In my desire to serve You Lord, may I ever be humble and meek,
For through the Bible, songs, and others, I really do hear God speak.

Staying Warm

Cold blows a fierce breeze, that scatters the leaves all around,
The dark gray clouds look heavy, could morning find snow on the ground?
And it is a very good time, just to sit around by a nice warm fire,
Because being snug and cozy, is a necessary desire,
I guess I complained too much about the summer, and its being way too hot,
At that time I wanted it to be winter, now God has cooled it off a lot,
Maybe I should have just asked for springtime, or just letting it be fall,
It really seems some people, don’t like any kind of weather at all,
But living in Alabama, who knows what tomorrow may hold,
Sometimes it can get tedious, all this running hot to cold,
But this is the place I love, so we’ll just leave it at that,
And I’ll just hibernate for a while, being lazy and getting fat.

Unmerited Favor

God how wonderful to dwell in Your grace, Your unmerited favor,
Especially when I think about, Your sending us a Savior,
Even as I wallowed in my sin, I was on Your mind,
And I do not know anyone else, who is so loving and so kind,
Oh Lord You reward me abundantly, many times more,
Than I deserve, and I know You have, so much more in store,
May I not shirk my reasonable service, what You want me to do,
For it's true I owe everything, even my next breath to You,
I cannot earn my salvation, it's a free gift You give,
And since I have accepted it, may it be reflected in this life I live,
For You have truly changed my life, changed my actual behavior,
So I will eternally thank You, for Your unmerited favor.

Doing It By The Book

It is so good to worship God, without the rules and regulations,
Where His Spirit can freely move, and we can discover His revelations,
To honor Him and lift His praises, each and every day,
This is the main reason, we need to bless Him when we pray,
We as living stones are built up a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood,
So we look not to evil things, but only seek the good,
For truly only You Lord, can meet our every need,
In thanksgiving we should plow sin's fields, and plant salvation's seed,
Then they too will learn the message, told at Calvary's tree,
And they will know Your power Lord, can in all ways set them free,
For the Bible is the best guide for living, I've found no better and I've looked,
So I will continue in God's Way, doing it by the book.

Flying High Still

Sometimes I wonder how many have answered, when they heard America's call,
How many have stood so I could be free, how many have sacrificed all?
Leaving loved ones and friends behind, so they could take up the fight,
So we could continue living, in the way we believe is right,
We have a special day to honor you, but we should do it each day of the year,
For you truly are our protection, so no enemy we have to fear,
Every time that I see our flag, the beautiful red, white, and blue,
I think about your duty, that our vigilant guard is you,
So I will stand and salute you, especially on Veteran's Day,
And I ask God to protect you, every time I pray,
To all of our veterans and active military, I can't tell you how I feel,
But I'm thankful for you and the many who've died, for Old Glory is flying high still.

Average, Ordinary, Mediocre........Not

As a Christian I do not want to be, average, ordinary, or mediocre,
An extraordinary, simmering in the love of God, Jesus Freak, is what I prefer,
To let that love boil over, and flow freely out of me,
So the ones who need salvation, can in me Jesus see,
For I spent too much of my life, dwelling inside the devil's haunts,
But now I seek to do God's will, and not what I may want,
I can not go back and change even one second, of any of my days,
Yet I surely don't to waste any more time, Lord keep me faithful is what I pray,
For the devil had me fooled, and controlled my life too long,
Now I resist the tempter, Jesus help me to stay strong,
Lord within Your presence, wonderful miracles occur,
With this happening in my life, how can I ever be, average, ordinary, or mediocre.

All Things

Why should I be sick, and worry about becoming ill?
When my Lord promises me divine healing, that I know is real,
All things are possible, to one who will believe,
And now it is that promise, that I always receive,
For God blesses me with good health, beyond my imagination,
Jesus dying on the cross, was for more than my salvation,
It is by the stripes of Jesus, that I am ever healed,
And there is no doubt in my mind, that this is God's will,
Lord I am forever thankful, and praise You everyday,
For there is no better feeling, than knowing You hear me when I pray,
I will not listen to the devil, who just wants to deceive,
But I will keep my faith in Jesus, and only believe.

Not Even For One Second

Lord we want to increase in wisdom, but also in Your favor,
For it is every taste of Your glory, that I will always savor,

And I surely want to have my hand on the door knob, when You open the next door,

One Nation Under

I pray God for our great nation, that from its evil ways we would repent,
That we would know Your truths, and seek the one You sent,
For we can not continue, down the path that we now trod,
But we need to get back to being, one nation under God,
To the mountains majesty, and from sea to shining sea,
There needs to be some changes, if America is going to remain free,
We can't expect our leaders, to take up the fight,
But it is we, the people, who need to rise up in the dawn's early light,
To see old glory flying, really touches my heart,
But I don't want to see what it stands for, broken down and torn apart,

Oh What a Treasure

I ask oh God that You enable me, with Your mighty power,
I need to be used by You, each and every hour,
For I've found that I don't always dwell, on the mountaintop,
But sometimes in the valley, where life seems to completely stop,
My faith in You helps me survive, and just live day by day,
And I constantly seek Your will, as I walk in Your Way,
For I am easily tempted by sin, I'm one weak human being,
I need to focus only on You, so in my mind only You I'm seeing,
Ever You I need to lift up, for You will always bless,
And You make something out of my life, where I only make a mess,
Lord You are my salvation, any other path is surely hell bound,

Beachy

Sandy beaches all around me, palm trees holding up the sky,
Fluffy white clouds drawing pictures, as they go floating by,
The water is just awesome, a perfect blue and crystal clear,
And the waves beat out a rhythm, sounds like music to my ears,
The sea gulls and the pelicans, ever looking for something to eat,
And I jump into the water, trying to cool off from the heat,
I believe this is a piece of paradise, that God has given me,
Just a few minutes here and from all my cares, I truly am set free,
To have my love walking the beach beside me, it doesn't get better than this,
Now I know what it feels like, to experience a little bit of Heavenly bliss,
Spending time in this part of God's creation, is something I love to do,
Oh to live here everyday, would be a dream come true.

Ode to Courtney

It's hard to understand, why God calls one so young, innocent, and sweet,
To come into His presence, and sit down at His feet,
But we're glad she no longer suffers, and that there is no more pain,
And we truly know that our earthly loss, is really Heaven's gain,
Now I imagine that she's missing all her loved ones, but don't miss being here,
And in the eternity she's now in, she's found death was not to be feared,
Though so young all that she's done, will be remembered year to year,
And though we will, she would not have us shed, even one tear,
We truly miss you today dear, miss your wit and all your charm,
But we are thankful knowing, you are safely in our Savior's arms,
We have the promise and the hope, that one day again we'll see,

Walking in His Will

I love You Lord and I seek You, with all of my heart,
And from walking in Your will, may I never depart,
For life on this earth is too short, and it runs at a fast pace,
So I need to use each minute, to accomplish Your mission for me in this place,
To speak Your truth so all will know, how much salvation cost,
Yet it is free for the asking, but if not accepted that soul is lost,
For hell is somewhere I would not wish, on my worst enemy,
I pray that all will go to Heaven, to spend forever in eternity,
Whatever is done or said on this world, will not matter much at all,
If we did not answer, when we heard Jesus call,
I'm thankful Lord that I've been sanctified, truly set apart,
That is why I seek and love You, with all of my heart.

More Than Hot Dogs and Chili

Hot dogs and chili and all the fixings, on a cool Autumn night,
Family and friends, and new friends together, in the fading sunlight,
Just so we can all fellowship, you can feel God's love as it flows,
So others know it's more than preaching and singing, the reason why we go,
There are many ways to reach out to people, the fall festival is just one,
I pray that after the food and the fun, they will all know what Jesus has done,
For our compassion should be for all people, to share the salvation story,
So everyone can have the choice, if they want to taste God's glory,
Yet sometimes it is the small things, that leads a sinner to God's Way,
But in everything I want God to use me, Lord show me Your will I pray,
Now I love fellowshipping, and all the people that I see,
But as good as it may be, life ain't all about hot dogs and chili.

More Like Him

I've been around a little while, and I've never seen or heard God lie,
And as I read the Bible, I've found they truly are words to live by,
Also there has never been a time, when I've found God to be wrong,
And as long as I abide in God's will, I can sing my real life's song,
I am thankful Lord for the mercy, grace, and favor You show me,
For I really am trying to live the way, that You want me to be,
And I can never praise You enough, for saving me from hell,
The story of my salvation, a story I will gladly tell,
When I had no source of hope, and things were looking pretty grim,
Lord I opened my heart's door to You, and You saved me from my sin,
And Lord since You never lie, I know all You do is pure and true,
So may I seek to be the same, so I can be more like You.

Sitting in my easy chair, tired from a real long day,
But I hope I do not fall asleep, before I am able to pray,
For my day is not complete Lord, unless I spend some time with You,

When I seek Your will, I always expect to receive good things,

Real Life

You oh Lord are faithful, even when I'm not,
And You have made me pure, there is not even one spot,
So help me that I do not waste, what You have given me,

About a Savior who came to earth, and was nailed to a rugged cross,
So that we can all be saved, so our souls will not be lost,
Since I've accepted Your salvation, I've found You hear me when I pray,
And I want to learn more about You, every single day,
So I will be more faithful, so I will be more true,
For I've found Lord that real life, only revolves around You.

Since I made the decision Lord, Your salvation to receive,
I've come to know all things are possible, to me if I believe,

Safe Through the Storm

Storms blow through my life Lord, just as they do in nature,
And in both sometimes I wonder, how will I ever endure,
But I know You hear me Lord, every time I pray,
That is why I put my complete trust, in You every day,

And You are the only one, who could change me from what I used to be,
I can look back over my life, and see where you held me in Yours hands,
When You protected me, when I couldn't even stand,
As bad as I had been, You still heard me when I called,
And You didn't forgive just one or two of my sins, Lord You forgave them all,
Now no matter what may happen, You give me peace within my soul,

It Never Ends

They say alls well that ends well, and for a believer all ends well,
For Heaven is guaranteed, our salvation keeps us out of hell,

Of the glory waiting for us, and not one bit will we waste,

For though we're still in our earthly bodies, Jesus is still near,
I am going to share Him, as long as this is where I dwell,

With all the sin evidence against me, Lord You could have found me guilty,
But in my accepting Your salvation, You have truly set me free,
I am not a saint, yet no longer a condemned sinner,

And I am sure that by my living in Your will, my eternity is assured,

Our Earthly Pleasure

Lord I worship You, Your love truly is beyond measure,
And daily in Your Word, I keep finding hidden treasures,

Before I Call

Lord You give me so much more, than I should be given,
Your mercy and grace has truly changed, the way that I am living,
Where I knew of You before, I didn’t really know You,
But now I am learning more, and all that You say is true,

How wonderful to live life, surrounded by Christian friends,

Right in the Middle

To some life is like chasing rainbows, seeking its pot of gold,
Then before they ever know it, life has turned them old,
Maybe it's a rabbit's foot or four leaf clover, they hope will bring them luck,
Always looking for an easier way, to make the almighty buck,
Now I have worked hard all my life, trying to make both ends meet,
But burning the candle at both ends, only leads to one's defeat,
For the grass really is not any greener, on the other side of the fence,
I guess at times I have thought that, but I'm not known for having much sense,
So now I'm trying to make life slow down, but that is hard to do,
It's like driving the speed limit on the interstate, they'll run all over you,
Yet I have found it is better, to stop a minute and pray,
And live life right in the middle of God's will, every single day.

Got Heaven

May I never forget what happened, one day at Calvary,
And to realize Jesus was thinking about me, as He hung dying on that tree,
How in the moment of His death, the sky turned dark as night,
The veil in the temple split in two, so I could see God's wonderful light,
And the centurion standing by the cross, said this truly is God's Son,
I wonder if he ever found out, what victory had just been won,
Everyone thought it was the end, when they rolled the stone into place,
But on the third day finding the tomb empty, they knew this wasn't the case,
To some Jesus showed his nail-scarred hands and feet, so that they would believe,
My faith is blind, but I trusted Him, and His salvation I received,
So I often remember that awful death, that occurred on Calvary,
For it is the reason I now have Heaven, in my eternity.

To Be Free

I believe that America continually grows more evil, and will do so everyday,
And a lot of that is their not knowing, the God to which Christians pray,
For they have never been told, that Jesus came to save their souls,
This is the reason why the devil, gains more and more control,
People had rather seek their pleasures, got to have that next big thrill,
But no matter how far they move away from God, He will love them still,
And God continues to reach for them, always knocking on their hearts door,
Hoping they come to realize that by living life in Him, they will gain so much more,
We need to spread God’s message, about a Savior and His eternity,
So their hearts will be changed, as Jesus changed you and me,
I pray God sends a great revival, so America can see,
That if they don’t know my Jesus, they never will be free.

A Child of the King

Oh Lord I am rejoicing, because I am a child of the King,
And to my faith in You, I will always cling,
For no one can change a heart Lord, like You are able to,
And no one else can take one that is stone-cold, and make it become brand new,
I only expect good things Lord, for that is what You give,
May my relationship with You, show in the way I live,
Eternity is too short, for it to be any other way,
So I need to be constantly aware of Your presence Lord, each and every day,
It makes it so much easier, to beat the devil down,
And I will not stray from Your love, it is the richest I have found,
Now I will enter the sanctuary, so I can glorify and praise You as I sing,
For it is the greatest feeling Lord, being a child of the King.

At anytime during a service, we should expect a big thing to happen,
And if it does I surely do not want to be the one, who is caught napping,
For we don’t know when, the Spirit is going to move in a big way,
And we really want to stir it up, that’s one reason why we pray,
We have faith in the unseen, but sometimes it good when there’s a sign,
Just to keep the hope alive, in this heart of mine,
For Your very presence Lord, is an awesome thing,
And it can cause us to lift our voices, only Your praises to sing,
I have found that when I would be timid, You can make me bold,
So I will share whatever it is Lord, that You have laid on my soul,
Just give us a taste of Your glory, for our believing in You is real,

There is no way to express our appreciation, for everything you do,
In your preaching, teaching, and counseling, seems a big load is placed on you,
But you seem to flourish in it, so we know definitely this is God's call,
And you are not selfish in sharing God's love, you reach out to us all,
I know personally I have grown as a Christian, so much more than ever before,
It started on that first day, when I walked in Heritage Christian Center's door,
All of us realize you are steering us, straight into God's Way,
And I hope you feel the prayers lifted for you, each and every day,
We are thankful for you and Sister Pam, and all the time you give,
And as a result we hope your guidance, is reflected in the lives we live,

Oh Glorious Season

A chill is in the air, in this season we call Fall,
Finally we must wear long sleeves, when we go to watch football,
To be in the crowd watching the game, can really be a thrill,
And even if our team loses, we will love them still,
The leaves are all different colors, so beautiful to see,
It is just a wonderful sight, that the good Lord has given me,
Autumn surely is special, I love this time of year,
It always lifts my spirit, and fills my heart with cheer,
A lull between the heat of summer, and before winter turns so cold,
Just another part of God's wonderful creation, that surely touches my soul,
For my God who made all the earth and its wonders, truly cares for me,
But this is nothing compared to a glorious Heaven, that I one day will see.

Falling Leaves

I sat and watched the wind, cause thousands of leaves to fall,
And there was no discrimination, they fell from all the trees, short
and tall,
The colors are all magical, what a wonderous array,
And I thank God that around this time every year, He shares this
beautiful display,
The weather turning cooler, makes living more tolerable,
And in Alabama the weather, can keep things from getting dull,
This part of the country, is truly a wonderful place to live,
And just looking at God's creation, I can see the glorious pictures
that He gives,
Poetry in the existence, it's breathtaking all that God has made,
And I can just rest right here, until the sunshine starts to fade,
Just taking all this in, the autumn breeze keeping me awake,
I will just sit here and enjoy the beauty, until I have to rake.

In Each Step

Oh Lord You have forgiven me, of all my many transgressions,
Doing this on the day, when I made my salvation confession,
I'm thankful for my making, this eternal choice,
And it's in the glory of your presence, that I will rejoice,

And if somehow I wander, You will seek me too,

He Lives Inside Me

It is You oh Lord whose will, I always shall seek first,
For Your living waters, ever quench my spiritual thirst,
You Lord spoke the word, and told the lame man he could stand,

Lord You called out to Lazarus, and told him he again could live,
And for my eternal salvation, You came to earth Your life to give,
Lord You were here before, any of creation began,
And Lord as to doing Your miracles, my faith in You tells me that I can,

And throughout eternity I know, there will be no mention of my sin, it's gone,

He Never Changes

We know sins are of the devil, and the devil has sinned from the beginning,
And if we are oppressed of the devil, we will just keep on sinning,
But Jesus was manifested, so He can destroy the works of the evil one,
And we can be both saved and healed, only by God's Son,
For Jesus came not to do His will, but to do the Father's will,
And we too need to seek the Father's will, and in our lives make it real,
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and always will be forever,
The Lord has never changed, and all His promises will vary never,
It is truly by our Lord's stripes, that we have been healed,
All through God's Holy Bible, we see the words of healing revealed,
For Jesus did not come to touch just a few, but to touch everyone,
There is salvation and healing for all today, and it's found in Jesus, God's only Son.

In Your Will Lord

To You Lord the oceans, are like a cup of water in Your hand,
And yet You reached down to earth, and from the dust created man,
May my prayers not sound, as though they are demanding,
But may they ever be seeking, Your way of understanding,
For I look like a little ant, if viewed from Heaven above,
Still You in Your infinite mercy and grace, saw fit to fill me with Your love,
And that love sent my Savior Jesus, to die on a rugged cross,
By those nail-scarred hands You bring hope and peace, to this life that was storm-tossed,
And that hope passes all my understanding, but is my hope for eternity,
Living here in Your creation, a glimpse of glory I can see,
I can daily step out in faith, and never question why,

Total Surrender

Everything can change in the blink of an eye, but don't worry God never blinks,
And whatever we may be doing, with God it stays more in sync,
Growing old is surely a whole lot better, than the alternative,
When I think about third world countries, I am glad this is where I live,

And if you devote yourself to it, you can be anything that you please,
God in His infinite wisdom, has set things up this way,
And that we don't abuse it, is what I daily pray,

For He is the one that I worship, and praise to Him I'll always sing,

Submission

Jesus died a cruel death, so He could save my soul,
But His dying also included, His keeping my mind and body whole,
As I believe for my salvation, there is healing for me too,
And I've come to realize, all God's promises are true,
For He would not have me suffer, in my life in any part,
His presence is so awesome, as His love always floods my heart,
And by that love the whole salvation package, was born on Calvary's tree,
If there had been no other, He would have done it just for me,
So if you have faith in God, you only need to believe,
And you will be amazed, at the mercy, grace, and miracles you will receive,
I submit my life to my Lord, and I will seek His will,
For how can I not worship, the one with the power to save and heal?

All is Very Well

Jesus died on a sacrificial cross, for the sins of everyone,
But not everyone accepts this creation of salvation, offered by God's Son,
The choice is made by each person. God allows us to choose,
I choose life and I pray that you, do not choose to lose,
And the life I choose is eternal, so my soul will never die,
I will spend eternity in Heaven, in the sweet by and by,
So I will study the Bible, and in the will of God I will abide,
And I will be secure, knowing He is always walking by my side,
My time here on earth should be spent pointing, lost sinners straight to Him,
And impressing upon them the importance, of being forgiven of their sins,
For their rejection keeps them on the road, that leads them straight to hell,
But in accepting Jesus deep down in their soul, they can say it is well.

Down the Road

Life is a journey, and we all have to travel down its road,
For some it seems so easy, but some carry a heavy load,
And life has many choices, as we travel along the way,
That is why before I make them, I have to stop and pray,
And time just seems to fly by, and we wonder where it all has gone,
That is why we do not need, to walk this road alone,
So before this old body dies, is buried, and returns to dust,
I've found there is only one, who with my soul I can trust,
Jesus is the one, He saved me from all my sins,
And in my accepting His salvation, I have eternal life in Him,
So to the one who has His eyes, even on the tiny sparrow,
I will follow You oh Lord, on the road that's straight and narrow.

Alabama Weather

There's been a change in the weather, fall is in the air,
It is a little cooler, had to get the jacket out to wear,
But the weatherman says it will be around ninety, when the weekend rolls around,
We get used to this in Alabama, where all kinds of weather can be found,
I will be sweating in the Winter, and freezing in the Spring,
It is a big guessing game, wondering what Mother Nature is going to bring,
Tornadoes blowing one day, hot and humid all day long,
Then the next day it turns cold, and a big snow will come along,
I guess it would be boring, if the weather stayed the same,
But if it turns wet and nasty, we'll let Old Man Winter take the blame,
Sometimes it seems that perfect day, is just out of my reach,
Those days I'll dream that I'm in Florida, lying on a beach.

Inspired

It only takes a spark of Your wonderful love Lord, to truly inspire,
And it is always Your precious love, that is my ultimate desire,
It fills my heart to overflowing, enough so that I have to share,
For I really do want others, to know how much I really care,
I am like God, in that I would have none to perish,
And would like them to know it is Jesus Savior, that they need to cherish,
For through Him is salvation, none other can offer this,
He is the one who guides us, into Heavenly bliss,
And He draws us toward perfection, if we truly seek His will,
So when I enter His presence, I will humbly kneel,
And pay homage to the one, who died that I might live,
As You have loved me Lord, all my love to You I give.

The Full Price is Paid

What if payment for our sins, required our hanging on a cross?
It is a high price to pay, but that is the actual cost,
For blood is the requirement, to cover all our sins,
All our foolish and failures, we have no way to defend,
Yet the cross is not ours to bear, God has allowed a replacement,
But there can only be one, that's why His Son was sent,
And all my praise and thanks, should be His alone,
For only through Jesus could my many sins be atoned, as good as gone,
But I had to accept what He did, the very price He paid,
I should be sorry, yet I feel joyful, for the sacrifice He made,
To the one who saved my soul, from being eternally lost,
I will be forever grateful, for His dying on the cross.

Counting on You Lord

Some days Lord things will happen, that try to draw me away from You,
And I will start feeling helpless, not knowing what to do,
I wonder why everything, has to look so bleak,
But I know it is the devil, who has found a spot that's weak,
I need You Lord to help me, stand up in the gap,
Things would be a whole lot better, if Satan You would just zap,
For Lord I don't need anything, that causes a distraction,
Because I want to live my life, to Your satisfaction,
So in my need for hope and peace, in Your presence I now bow,
Knowing in my seeking Your direction, You will show me how,
And I thank You Lord for lifting my spirits, when I am feeling blue,
For I know that in any situation, I can count on You.

I am like a grain of sand in the ocean, creation is just so large,
But whatever my part in it, Lord I want You to be in charge,
So I can do Your will, and pursue it every day,

Each day that I am living, draws me closer to eternity,

To be a Godly example, to reach out to lost souls,
And if just a grain of sand, it can play an important part,

Our Sacrificial Lamb

Jesus precious Savior, our sacrificial lamb that was slain,
Oh the horrible humiliation you were subjected to, oh the agonizing pain,
Just so a worthless sinner like me, could be saved from all my sins,
So I could be rescued from hell, and the real victory I would win,
Now how can I come into Your presence, but by being on my knees,
For You have opened the eyes of my heart Lord, so I can truly see,
Fill me with Your wisdom, joy, and peace, but especially Your love,
Keep me focused, not on things of this world, but on things above,
Life not lived within Your will, is actually worth nothing,
So the sacrifice of my life, is the gift to You I bring,
In my living may others come to know You, and the reason for the price You paid,
And I will be eternally thankful, for the ultimate sacrifice You made.

Basking in His Love

In this earthly life there are no guarantees, of how long we will be staying,
That is why I spend as much time as I can, doing a lot of praying,
Asking God that in everything, only His will be done,
And thanking Him for the salvation that I have, through His only Son,
In my praise and worship, it is Him I glorify,
And my love for Him, will never ever die,
Creation is just a small sample, of what in eternal life we'll see,
My heart is filled with joy and hope, knowing what Heaven holds for me,
And I will never change from this path, the one that I'm now on,
For it is the one that will eventually, lead to my Heavenly home,
Walking this path will take me, to where God wants me to be,
And I will bask in the love, that He is always showing me.

Pointing to You

It is in You oh Lord, that I will place all my trust,
And I will not pursue, any of my sinful worldly lusts,
I will seek Your wisdom, truth, and instruction,
Not those things, which lead to my destruction,
May I capture any evil thought, so that I can be pure,
For in the promise of my salvation, my eternity is secure,
For I don’t want to do anything, that goes against Your will,
That would blemish the witness, of what You did on Calvary’s hill,
Though I am not perfect, I always strife to be,
And in living my Christian life, may I share the love You’ve given me,
May I remember You, before anything I say and do,
So that the praise and worship of this believer, only points to You.

Looking at My Heart

When I look into a mirror, it’s not a very pretty sight I see,
But I am glad that You God look at my heart, to see the true beauty in me,
I pray that everything that flows out of me, is righteous and pure,
Because I found Lord, when You saved me, that for my sins You are the cure,
When I accepted You as my Savior, all my past sins were erased,
And this is just an example, of Your wonderful mercy and grace,
That You generously bestow upon, all of us who do believe,
Now I humbly bow in Your presence, Your favor to receive,
And Lord I’m not the smartest person, sometimes a little slow in learning,
But life is all about You, and doing You will, for which my soul is yearning,
For just like in a play Lord, I want to perform my part,
And I really do appreciate Your judging me, by looking at my heart.

No Greater Power

As I walk along the path of life, of one thing I am sure,
No matter what I have to face, my faith always will endure,
For there is no greater power, than that of my creator,
He always fulfills my every need, and then He gives me so much more,
And my mind can't begin to comprehend, what He has in store for me,
But there is one thing I do know, I'll live throughout eternity,
So to give Him all my praise and worship, is what I choose to do,
But that isn't very much toward repaying, the one who made my heart brand new,
So I will live my life, striving toward being in His will,
And in my doing this, I pray He sees just how I feel,
For I want my heart to be as His heart, in each and every way,
And I know He'll walk the path of life with me, each and every day.

In Need of Love

I need to know I'm loved Lord, it is a necessity,
But sometimes I have looked for love, where I didn't need to be,
For Satan is very crafty, and is good at his deceiving,
But I have gotten smarter, since in Jesus I started believing,
I've found that God has so much love, that it is overflowing,
It is a wonderful gift, from the God who is all knowing,
And He gives over and above, any thing that I might need,
So as to His residency in my heart, He will always hold the deed,
I will not be selfish, with the love He gives,
And I hope others see it, in the life I live,
Now when I feel the need for love, I turn my eyes above,
And keep them on my Savior, He truly is a God of love.

An Empty Tomb

I pray Lord that I remember, that Your tomb is still empty,
This thought alone should be enough, in motivating me,
To go out into the world, this wonderful story to tell,
The one about a Heavenly eternity, that will keep a soul out of hell,
Because I can't expect the pastors, to be able to do it all,
I should take the great commission seriously, since I've answered God's call,
Every day God gives opportunities, in which I need to share,
The reality of God's love, and how much He really cares,
Believing Him for my salvation, something I will never lose,
Still I want to be a vessel, that He can always use,
So to the one who knew me before I was formed, in my mother's womb,
I will live my life in the power, of His empty tomb.

More Than Ordinary

How far out in our faith, do we ever dare to venture?
Do we believe that in all things, with God we can endure?
Why do we have cold feet, when there are souls out there to be saved?
And do we fail to pray for healing, when it's part of the salvation Jesus gave?
Do we realize that our life span, is just one breath in God's eternity?
Have we forgotten that Jesus, is still setting sinners free?
Is life really so boring, that everything is just routine?
We just need to remember in all our times of trouble, on Jesus we can lean,
If we walk within God's will, He is with us each step along the way,
And we need to expect the miracles, every time we pray,
I don't believe God wants me to sit in a pew, after His love has changed me,
Lord help me venture out in my faith, so I don't remain just ordinary.

Always Shining

What is it within your life, that causes the sun to shine?
That brings you to that moment, when you know everything is fine,
When you don't give the devil, a chance to drag you down,
For you know that Christ your Savior, is always hanging around,
So even when you're downhearted, and things are looking grim,
Jesus gives you peace and hope, your joy is found in Him,
And no matter what happens today, your future is forever,
Your relationship with Him, He will never sever,
So when things look bleak, and you think you can’t go on very much longer,
Just remember Jesus loves you, and He will make you stronger,
And one fabulous day in Heaven, you'll sit down with Him and dine,
So Jesus is the reason, your life's sun should always shine.

Better Than Creation

I gaze into the night sky, and see the moon and stars,
As to all Your creation Lord, I can't see that far,
And I wonder how anyone, could doubt Your awesome power,
Especially when Your mercy and grace, falls on us like rain showers,
Your hanging on the cross for our sins, was not a tragedy,
But God birthing salvation by each drop of Your blood, dripping from that tree,
And what You did two thousand years ago, is still relevant today,
But we still must make the choice, whether or not to follow in Your Way,
I choose You Lord to follow, in everything take the lead,
For I truly seek Your will, and on Your Holy Word I feed,
Yes watching the moon and stars, is a wonderful thing to do,
But what is even more wonderful Lord, is leading the lost to You.

Eternal Thinking

Oh one day to live in a place, where we don't have a care,
Where there are no storms in our lives, where the weather is always fair,
Everything will be wonderful, without the aches and pain,
And there will be no loss, we will count all things as gain,
Where we can sit and listen, to thousands of angels in a Heavenly choir,
All of them singing praises to God, oh it sets my soul on fire,
The overwhelming exhilaration, of seeing family and friends there,
And I can't imagine, what grand stories they will share,
The best thing will be seeing Jesus, our Savior we'll finally get to meet,
And in person be able to praise Him, as we sit at His feet,
Oh what glory that will be, enough to take my breath away,
But it is a promise, that is surely going to happen one day.

Walking Blind

Stepping out in a faith, that is totally blind,
It is amazing all the things, that a believer can find,
In that first step we found our salvation, forgiveness for our sins,
That first step brought us an eternity, from the place that we had been,
And though the steps are blind, with each one we will grow,
Then more about our Savior and His love, we will come to know,
And with our faith in God, we are able to step out without fear,
For we know the one with the power to create the universe, is always very near,
And we use His Word to guide us, in each step that we take,
Because life is much too short, to make any more mistakes,
Who would have thought a blind faith, could set a sinner free?
And that walking in that blind faith, how much better one can see.

Believe the Love

God's love, who knows its height, or depth, or length, or its breadth?
And that same love has overcome hell, the grave, yes and even death,
God's love covers the whole world, yet it also fills my heart,
And it is that very special love, that truly sets us apart,
God's love sent Jesus to a cross, to die for all our sins,
And the salvation found in that love, always points us to Him,
God's love reaches us in Heaven, also if we make our bed in hell,
And that love also heals, have faith and it will make you well,
God's love will never forsake us, for all His promises are true,
And His love has a special plan, created just for me and you,
God's love showers us with blessings, as surely as He sent His Son from up above,
And what He wants from us, is only for us to believe the love.

Putting Him First

Of all the things in my life, Lord I put You first,
For You fill my heart with so much love, I feel like it will burst,
So I must share Your love, because it really does overflow,
And I want Your love to touch people, everywhere I go,
For You glory Lord is something, that everyone should taste,
Now I need to get busy sharing You, there is not any time to waste,
And let my yeas be yeas, and my nays be nays,
May I not speak one idle word, especially when I pray,
Let me not be indecisive, but stand up as a Christian bold,
So others see You in my life, and they will know You control my soul,
For You are still changing hearts Lord, You changed mine when it was at its worst,
That is why throughout eternity, I will always put You first.

Rejoice

We have a great reward waiting for us in Heaven, so we should rejoice,
Knowing we have eternal life, that we have made the right choice,
For one day we’ll see our Savior, and look into His wonderful face,
Then we’ll know we’ve left this cruel, sinful world, to dwell in a better place,
Where there is no pain and suffering, where there is no sorrow or woe,
God’s light is the illumination, and there is happiness wherever we go,
And we won’t worry about yesterday or tomorrow, we’ll just praise Him today,
Thanking Him for the salvation He has given us, for guiding us into His Way,
Lavishing in and savoring the blessings, that He freely gives,
Favor bestowed upon us, for the lives that we have lived,
Things beyond our imagination, that makes our hearts start singing,
So how can we help but show it, but by eternally rejoicing.

Walking a Different Road Now

Just one single thought can turn my heart, from good toward evil,
I pray my faith grows stronger, and is not so weak and feeble,
I just have to capture that thought, and not let Satan plant that seed,
So it is not cultivated, and has me chasing after some physical need,
For I want to dwell in the spiritual, where my life can be absolutely pure,
Where I can be safe and secure, from the temptations I endure,
The closer I get to Jesus, the more they seem to come,
The devil knows what buttons to push, and he can make me feel real dumb,
For even though Christ is my Savior, in everything I still have to choose,
And I have to keep my eyes on Him, so my train of thought I do not lose,
I have walked the road of sin, and know it is full of pain and strife,
But I now walk a different road, and I have chosen Jesus and eternal life.

Eternally Seeking

As surely as the sun rises each morning, every day Lord I seek You,
And as I start another day, I think of all that You've made new,
For with You Lord, there is no getting up on the wrong side of the bed,
And I know You speak the truth, and I believe every word You've said,
It's exciting thinking about, what the future with You holds,
And I'm truly very thankful, that I let You control my soul,
In my past the important thing, was all about my earthly gain,
And on the road of life, I know I always ran in the fast lane,
But You Lord have shown me, that You have a better way,
And I ask for more knowledge of Your will for me, every time I pray,
In facing my temptations, You make me strong where I was weak,
That is why for eternity, it is You Lord I will ever seek.

The Fairest

Oh Jesus Lord and Savior, of all You are the fairest,
May I let You be a permanent resident in my life, and not just be a guest,
For this is not a part time relationship, but one for every day,
For who else than You is better, to guide me in the good Lord's Way,
To point me in the direction, that leads to that higher plane,
So that nothing You have for me is lost, and Your favor I will gain,
I can not survive this life, trying to make it on my own,
But if I keep my eyes on You Lord, You will never leave me alone,

For I do not want to return, to the life that I once had,
And down the road I don't want to find, there's one blessing I have missed,
But want to be eternally with You Lord, for You are the fairest.

Appointed and Anointed

Heaven is a place, I wouldn't miss for anything on this earth,
And I will spend eternity there with my God, who knew me before my birth,
For there is only one Savior, Jesus is His name,
I know He is my eternal future, not worldly fortune and fame,
But yet He would not have me destitute, in all things He wants me to prosper,
And He is ever with me, no matter what occurs,
In all the storms of my life, He is my faithful anchor,
He has blessed me bountifully, and there will be so much more,
So my life revolves around, and is all about Him,
For His salvation's grace and mercy, has saved me from my sins,
Now in this appointed time, I have been brought to this place,
So I am going to seek to do His will, and one day I'll see Him face to face.

Straight Up

God is not like the devil, who tries to be real sneaky,
Sometimes though the happenings around Christians, can be a little freaky,
For with God it's not impossible, for a miracle to occur,
Especially when a soul is saved, and that heart is stirred,
And I believe that God is responsible, for everyone of the healings,
In His awesome presence I know, I get a special feeling,
He has had to rescue me from temptation's clutches, time and time again,
To keep me from returning to that dark place, where my life had been,
That's why it is important to me, to do His will each day,
His abundant mercy and grace, is plenty enough reason to worship Him and pray,
And I will not look back, that part of my life is now dead,
I will keep my eyes upon my Jesus, my eternity with Him is straight ahead.

Redneck Ode

Growing up in the South, you know your neck is going to be a little red,
There are them other people, who make fun of the way some things are said,
But they just don’t understand, wrestling, and football, and barbeque,
And if we don’t have the right tools, well WD 40 and duct tape will do,
No matter what may happen, Mama is always right,
And sometimes we don’t remember, who started that big old fight,
We love those big wheels, that we put on our pickup trucks,
And I believe it was the pastor who said, there ain’t no such thing as luck,
There sure isn’t enough time, for hunting and fishing and such,
And the wife said if I took her to McDonalds, it was alright to go dutch,
We believe in the Bible, and the good Lord, and try not to say worse than heck,
But if God made the sun so bright, then yep I’m going to be a redneck.

A Redeemed Soul

It seems like every day, the pace of life gets a little faster,
And we forget sometimes, to spend time with the Master,
For we must think we have, more important things to do,
I think it is better watching, the rising sun burn off the morning dew,
And then to watch that glorious sun, sinking in the west,
Life is so much better, when we take the time to rest,
Just to spend a little time, with the Awesome and Almighty,
So I can feel His hope and peace, within the heart of me,
And reading the God inspired Word, really helps me know,
What He has in store for me, and where He wants me to go,
For He entered into my heart, that was hard, bitter, and cold,
And filled it with His love, after He redeemed my soul.

Life Like It Needs to Be

Although life isn't always like, what I want it to be,
I feel like I'm growing every day, closer to God's plan for me,
For in every part of my life, I am truly seeking Him,

Sometimes it seems like the struggle is greater, for the devil frustrates me more,
But I am walking with Jesus, and will only proceed when He opens the door,
For I will never forget Jesus, being nailed up on an old rugged tree,
It is because of this, that I am saved and now I see,
The future ahead, and Satan defeated, again and again and again,
And with boldness as a believer, I will take my stand,
To tell the nations about my Savior, and what He's done for me,
Though my life isn't like I want it, it will be what Jesus wants it to be.

Basking in His Light

When the sky is gray and it's gloomy outside, it seems to make us sad,
But when it's sunny and there's blue skies, then we tend to be glad,
In our Christian life a lot of times, we're feeling the same way,
But we shouldn't and we need to let God, lift our spirit every day,
For if we truly believe, we know that God is always there,
And His love ever surrounds us, He wants us to know He cares,
For the devil will do anything, because he wants us to fall,
But God gives us strength to overcome, if we've answered His call,
Life is too short to be worrying, about every little thing,
When we should be thanking God, for the joy He always brings,
So when life's skies are gray and gloomy, almost as dark as the night,
Remember we are God's children, and we bask in His glorious light.

Slowing Down

Life is always moving, it never does stand still,
Sometimes it seems like a car without brakes, rolling down a hill,
And slowing down to smell the roses, is real hard to do,
The times that we can slow down, are far between and few,
But Jesus says come to Him all who labor, and He will give you rest,
For His yoke is easy, and He will make your burdens light, a whole lot less,
Sometimes I wonder if our hurry, is really just running away,
And we fear falling behind, when we need to live life day by day,
We need to just slow down, and let God have control,
And we need to walk beside Him, and to His hand tightly hold,
Life is too short to run through, we should seek God with every breath,
For in believing Him for our salvation, we will receive eternal life not death.

In The Flow

Lord in the living of my life, may I stay within Your flow,
For I know to go against that flow, is not the way to go,
As the seasons pass so rapidly, and the years seem to fly away,
May I take the time to seek You, every single day,
I am thankful for the blessings, that flow from You to me,
For You have removed my earthly blindness, so I can spiritually see,
I know Your Word, returns not void, but will pour out Your favor,
And in my obedience to You, You will bless so much more,
Out of the good treasure of my heart, may I only bring forth good things,
For You alone know my heart, and know there is no evil there to bring,
In all that I endure in living, Lord You are the only cure,
So as the currents of life tug at my soul, Lord the only flow I'll survive in is Yours.

No Hurry, No Worry

I will not let yesterday or tomorrow, dictate how I live today,
For right in the middle of God's will, is where I want to stay,
I can't change what has already happened, so there is no need to worry,
And tomorrow isn't here yet, so there is no need to hurry,
God wants us to take life, just at the pace He sets,
And as long as we walk with Him, we won't have any regrets,
For He has plans He has created, and one is just for me,
So I will pray and study, knowing His Word holds the key,
Salvation is too precious, for it not to be shared,
Especially in this sinful world, where there is so much despair,
Hallelujah for Jesus, what a Savior for eternity,
If it hadn't been for Him, how lost I still would be.

Always Amazed

As I come into Your presence Lord, I bow down on my knees in awe,
Thankful that You've accepted me, in spite of all my flaws,
For I surly sought my own pleasure, not even thinking about Your will,

I now pursue You with a passion, for I want You to be in control,
Of my total being, of my very soul,

In Our Hearts

Of all of our bodily organs, the heart is the main one,
It keeps pumping blood through our body, until our earthly life is done,
But this is in the physical, there is a spiritual side too,
In the spiritual God will fill a heart with love, this is oh so true,
When a believer's heart is full, it will then overflow,
To those who don't believe, so the Father's love will show,
So we need to guard our hearts, to keep the devil out,
If we keep it full of God's love, we won't have any doubts,
Especially about the Father's will, as we hear His still, small voice,
Then we know in our accepting Him as Savior, we have made the right choice,
So just as Jesus saved us, and truly set us apart,
Let us never forget to share, what God has placed inside our hearts.

Every Thought

To the obedience of Christ, I will take every thought into captivity,
For I want my life to be all about Him, and not about me,
And I want others to come to know Him, and the salvation He freely gives,
So my relationship with Him, should be displayed in the way I live,
That Jesus would purify and sanctify me, is my daily prayer,
To be the vessel He can use, and His message ever share,
For my fellow believers, a blessing of hope and peace I send,
Because Jesus has brought us too far, to go back to where we’ve been,
If only two or three of us are gathered, we know that God is there,
And we can feel His presence, and know how much He cares,
To repay Him for what He’s done for me, I can’t give what He deserves,

It’s Real

Lord everything about You, and everything You do is indescribable,
And the love that You give me, fills my heart to the full,

God's Plan

How grand it is to meet with family and friends, so we can worship and pray,
Too bad we're not able to do this, every single day,
For I'm sure it would be easier, to live within God's will,
We would grow in wisdom and knowledge, God's Word would become more real,
In the sanctuary we can feel, hope and peace abundantly,
But staying there is not the place, God wants us to always be,
Going out into the world, is where our faith can really grow ,
For there is a multitude of people, that really do not know,
About Jesus our Savior, and the salvation He freely gives,
And the only sermon they receive, is the way we choose to live,
Still it's great to gather to worship and pray, as often as we can,
But we need to share our faith with others, to be fully in God's plan.

Just Praying

Today I felt the need, to say a prayer for you,
Not that anything is wrong, it just seemed like the right thing to do,
And there might be a problem, that I don't know about,
But I'm sure it is God's urging me, I believe that without a doubt,
If there is something else you need, besides my special prayer,
How could I refuse you my friend, you know how much I care,
For God does lead us to those, who really have a need,
And if we listen to His still small voice, He will plant the seed,
For here on earth we are His hands, and yes we are His feet,
So we should have compassion, on everyone we meet,
If we're serious about God's will, and it being the course we're staying,
Then we really are helping change our world, and it starts when we are praying.

Choosing Him

Lord I pray I seek Your will, in any decisions that I make,
For even in the little ones, there is so much at stake,
We influence other people, that we’re always around,
And I want the life I’m living, to show them what I’ve found,
Lord You are a precious treasure, none like you now or ever more,
Living as You want me to, I can’t anticipate what’s in store,
So I will stand on Your promises, and know that You are always near,
And in the face of adversity and temptation, I can endure them without fear,
Though I may falter sometimes Lord, and even appear to be weak,
I will hold onto Your hand, for it is only You I seek,
And I want my life to be, all You would have it be,
For it is in Your salvation, that I’ve found my eternity,

Exciting

Lord it is with Your love, that I want my heart to fill,
And every time it fills to overflowing, then I will let it spill,
On others Lord, so they can learn all about this love too,
And I pray this love will get them, pointed straight to You,
When the devil tempts me, all his plans I will reject,
And when I pray to You Lord, a favorable answer I expect,
For You only have good things, that You want to give to me,
And Your salvation is the best thing, I've received since I believed,
Salvation is the beginning, and Lord I know there's so much more,
As I grow in You, then You open other doors,
So continue to lead me Lord, into what You would have me be,
Cause I'm thankful and excited, about the love You're giving me.

Listening

It is our human nature Lord, to want to be satisfied,
Our minds will wander, and then sometimes we get filled up with pride,
We want instant gratification, something to improve the way we feel,
And it slips from our mind, what happened on Calvary’s hill,
Then there are times with trivial things, we want to do on our own,
We remember what we thought were happier times, but that sin is long gone,
For we are supposed to be new creations, to be molded by God’s hand,
And when we’re faced with those temptations, we have to take a stand,
Our mind wants to us to sin, but our heart tells us no way,
This is probably a good time, to get on our knees and pray,
So Lord help me remember, that You are always near,
And in the trials of this life, know it is only Your voice I need to hear.

God's Church

God's church is not the building, holding up a steeple,
It is really the people, that is actually God's people,
Christians are the ones, God calls out of their pews,
For they are the only ones, that God can really use,
It is our mission to go out into this sinful world, and seek out the lost,
So we can tell them about our salvation, and how much it cost,
Jesus paid the price, so salvation is now free,
And I'm glad that I believed, for it surely has changed me,
When it comes to Jesus, everyone will have the opportunity to chose,
I just want them to know, if they make the wrong one how much they'll lose,
I will get out among the people, so the good news I can tell,
So that they can be saved, so they don't go to hell.

Living for the Savior

I will set my sights on You Lord, and seek things that are above,
For it is You that renews my mind, and fills my heart with love,
Now is the appointed time, that You have given me to live,
So I will make the most of it, and share this love you give,
And I will fulfill Your purpose for me, within Your holy plan,
I will not refuse to do it, but will do the best I can,
For I am not an accident, that randomly occurred,
You thought of me before I was conceived, that’s what it says within Your word,
So if it’s just a kind word spoken, or maybe something that I may write,
I will show You to others, the one who removes the darkness with His glorious light,
So I will be still and listen, as You whisper what You want me to do,
For I know life is not worth very much, if I don’t live it for You.

God's Vessel

Lord as just clay in Your hands, I can't tell You how to mold me,
But I really want You to shape me, into what You would have me be ,
I will not have any regrets, if I know I'm in Your will,
For I know You live in me, and it's my heart that Your love fills,
And this love that fills my heart, I need to let it flow,
Out into the lives of others, so Your love they too will know,
For Lord I will not live my life, filled with anger and with wrath,
But I will spread Your joy, and help others to learn to laugh,
Lord there is joy in Your salvation, and this the whole world needs to see,
Because there is no other way, that they can be set free,
Lord I truly want to be in Your hands, and I really do want to be the clay,
So I can be made into the vessel, to help others find Your Way.

Never Failing Love

Lord when everything around me fails, I know that Your love will not falter,
I need to remember this, and spend more time bowed down at Your altar,
For there is not enough time left in my human existence, to thank You enough,
Cause I can feel You walking with me, especially when things get tough,
If I walk through the valley, even in the shadow of death, I am not alone,
For I am with the one who saved and sanctified me, who for all my sins atoned,
And I will never be forsaken by You, for I know that You love me,
The one whose power protects me, the same one who parted the Red Sea,
And on the third day, by this power my Lord Jesus was raised,
A way to salvation created, so who else deserves my praise?
So I bow down at Your altar, and humbly to You I pray,
Cause I know Your love never falters, and grows stronger toward me every day.

Pursuing Him

Lord I thank You for divine health, for I know You want me healthy,
And I am thankful for Your riches, I know in all things You would have me wealthy,
I know there is not any religion, that will keep me out of hell,
So my faith is only in You, and all the truth that Your Word tells,
And I will not let anything I pursue, keep me from seeking You,
For it is Your will for me, that should be the most important thing I do,
I can not make my life any better, by anything I rearrange,
But Lord when I believed in You, You caused me to change,
You have placed inside of me, a joy and peace beyond compare,
And these along with Your love, is what I need to share,
To a lost and dying world, so the way to salvation they will know,
So when God calls me to minister, I can honestly say, send me Lord, I will go.

Why We Were Born

Lord as we strife to survive life, in this mortal flesh,
I am thankful that I know You personally, and know that You will bless,
For I know our human existence, does not last very long,
To You it is just like the blink of an eye, and then Lord it is gone,
But our hope for the future, is eternity with You,
Cause I believe every word written in Your Word, is absolutely true,
And I pray in my living, and as I'm growing older,
That I become more like You Lord, and that my witness becomes bolder,
For this world becomes more sinful, each and every day,
We need to reach out to the lost, they need to find God's Way,
Only You Lord have the power, and only You alone can transform,
Cause everyone needs to know the real reason, why they have been born.
