Exalt Him

As I pass through this life on earth, each day wanting to survive,

In the past I thought it was all on me, and I was thankful to be alive,

But I found that old wide road I was travelling, was really not the way,

That would lead me to the eternity I wanted, it was not where my future lay,

For I heard a preacher speaking about, one who loved me more than anyone,

And for all the bad things committed by me, He had died for all I had done,

So I repented accepting His salvation, and fell down on my knees,

And the scales of my sin fell from my eyes, so the real truth I can now see,

I found there is no condemnation, if one only believes,

For in the believing in Jesus as Lord, eternal life with Him I receive,

Now praising and worshipping my wonderful Savior, is something always worth repeating,

So I will exalt my Jesus knowing, the old devil is taking a beating.

To Reach Them

To Reach Them



As to the entirety of this world, I am as a grain of sand on the beach,

Yet I know even if I whisper, to God my prayers will reach,

Even as the waves roll over the sand, may God's love wash over me,

Then I will share it with others, so they too can share God's eternity,

Even as the sun rises in the east, and until in the west it dims,

May I be this consistent, striving to my life without sin,

As a wildflower grows in the wilderness, and there is no one it to see,

May I show the beauty of my salvation, wherever I may be,

In the whole of God's magnificent creation, I may be the only Bible some people read,

So something I say or action I take, may point them to what they need,

So I am hoping that in the living of my Christianity, that my life will preach,

For I am a part of God's family, on His mission this world to reach.

Ours to Change

Ours to Change

We search through our lives for purpose, some meaning we seek to find,

Still some wallow in the same rut, the same old daily grind,

It really is a type of bondage, the devil puts us in,

For he wants nothing better, than for us to remain in sin,

Yet some seek to have something going on, they have truly rose above,

The worldly things that deter us, and found out what is true love,

For it is just found in Jesus, He is the only one,

The only Way to eternal life, given to us through God's Son,

In accepting Him we guarantee, our salvation throughout eternity,

Then we discover that His plan is our finding, His will for you and me,

In reality our old human life, really has been rearranged,

Now we see the world through new eyes, and it is ours to change.

My Faith is Alive

There were times in this life, when I felt like Lazarus, buried and dead,

For I had fallen for the devil’s tricks, let him get inside my head,

And it was not very often, that I thought much at all about my eternity,

But one day I heard Jesus calling, and He was saying come forth to me,

And that stone that was my heart, that had been so hard and cold,

Was changed in the shortest instant, when I let Jesus take control,

I learned that even with all I had done and been through, God really loved me still,

Now I study His Word every day, wanting to be only in His will,

For without Him life is fruitless, that is not where I want to be,

But in Him life is eternal, from sin, the grave, and death, I’ve been set free,

So into this ocean of human living, into which each day I must dive,

I have found that truly it is love, that makes my faith alive.

In God I Trust

I didn’t see the moon all day, but I knew that it was there,

And I’ve never ever seen God, but I know how much He cares,

I sat and watched a stream, wondering where that it might go,

It reminded me that out of God’s heart, tremendous love does flow,

As I ponder sometimes, there is so much more of God’s will I want to know,

And just like the kudzu in Alabama, I wish that knowledge would grow,

Each day the living in this world, seems to make more and more demands,

But as for me I will rely on Jesus, and on this Rock I will stand,

And bit by bit I am finding out, just how much the Word of God is true,

Within its pages there lies a special plan, laid out for me and you,

So I will not lay up my treasures here on earth, where they will rot and rust,

But I will store them up in the safety of Heaven, for only in God I trust.

It Ain't Over

It seems some folks believe this life is it, that it is one and done,

If they don’t believe about Jesus’ first trip here, then they don’t the second one,

But I have read the good Book, from the first page to the last,

And my thinking is it is a good thing, for us to pray and fast,

For someone who doesn’t know better, it could be a scary thing,

Yet I do so I will be worshipping, waiting on my Savior and King,

Living a life in harmony, with what God truly wants me to be,

Thankful that my spiritual eyes, have been opened so I can see,

Knowing I am not perfect, but I am seeking God’s will,

And if one would only believe, then for you there is time still,

So if your life is full of sorrow, without hope and full of sin,

I promise you it’s time to change, for Jesus is coming again.

I Am Free

It is a true blessing from God, to have been born in the land of the free,

But I didn’t really know what freedom was, until I learned what Jesus did for me,

For in my living in this great land, I didn’t think I was a prisoner to anything,

Yet I found sin held me in bondage, and to its habits I would cling,

Then I found Jesus offered me an escape, by my accepting His free gift of salvation,

There truly is nothing like the chains falling off, in a spiritual revelation,

Yet just like the living in America with all of it choices, I am free to choose,

But Jesus gave me a choice, that I definitely could not refuse,

For there are only two choices, that matter in my eternity,

Heaven and hell hang in the balance, so I choose to believe,

And I learned that while Jesus hung on the cross, He really was thinking of me,

Now I am truly grateful for my birthplace, but more so for Jesus setting me free.

Just a Breath Away

This human life is but a shadow, which quickly passes by,

We can’t add one second past what God has for us, no matter how we try,

And there are loved ones who have left us, before we wanted them to go,

But as to their time and season, only God really knows,

So now that I have found the truth, I live my life a different way,

As I want to be in God’s will, each and every day,

Because I don’t know when it will be my time, when God will call me,

That is why I am trying to walk, into what He wants me to be,

And I will strive to obtain, God’s excellent perfection,

So my life in every area, will show His loving reflection,

If Jesus is not your Savior, may You accept Him I pray,

Remembering that the choice you make for eternity, is only a breath away.

Unending Love

Lord Your wonderful and gracious love, is as vast and deep as You,

And in spite of all my failings, Your love always is true ,

Now abide faith, hope, and love, generated from Heaven above,

But I know from studying Your teachings, that the greatest one of these is love,

So I will ever seek Your presence, striving to know Your will for me,

For on my own I will never know, what You want my living to be,

And I am aware that the devil walks around like a lion, seeking those he may devour,

But I am not afraid of him, because I live my life within Your power,

So I stand on Your Word Lord, resisting all the devil's temptations and tests,

Finding that Your yoke is easy, and in You I find eternal peace and rest,

All my praise and worship belongs to You Lord, I bow before You humble as a dove,

Realizing how awesome life can be, if lived within Your unending love.

Staying the Course

Are we wasting a lifetime, just experiencing momentary earthly pleasure?

Knowing that in the balance waiting, is a Heaven filled with wondrous treasure,

The devil uses sin to beckon constantly, wanting to keep one’s soul lost,

Not wanting us to know the truth, of Jesus paying sin’s terrible cost,

Satan is the hate monger, trying to turn us from God’s love,

So we don’t seek the good things, so we don’t keep our eyes on things above,

But one day in God’s presence, is better than an eternity spent in hell,

That is why I always seek God’s will, so I know with my soul all is well,

Basking in His presence accepting His salvation, for He is its only source,

Walking in those Biblical footsteps, always staying the course,

Realizing that the future of my being, holds the very best part,

But for today I want Him to know, that I love Him with all my heart.

Within His Love

Lord the deep well of Your love, it never will run dry,

And I cannot use it all up, no matter how I try,

But Lord there have been times, when I felt I put it to the test,

Yet I have found You love me, even when I'm not at my best,

And Lord in all my living, may I let You be a part,

So I will seek You daily, and love You with all my heart,

Also may I love my neighbor, always pointing them to You,

For obeying these two commandments, is what You want me to do,

Knowing that any good thing I do, prospers my eternity,

So in my being may doing Your will, be the choice I make for me,

May what You have done for my salvation, be the love that I show,

For in my sharing my hope is that, Your love everyone will know.

Thankful

I just paused to think about, this great nation where I live,

And the many lives lost, who gave all they had to give,

For whom always without fail, stood and still stand for me in the gap,

Their heroics touch my heart, and I just want to stand and clap,

Applauding them for their sacrifice, for their being so brave,

That they would not hold back anything, for my freedom to save,

And I think about Daddy, and his being a POW back in World War II,

So many stories never written, about the many faithful and true,

May I appreciate more all that they do, leaving home and family,

For someone that most don’t even know, that is you and me,

Lord protect them and bring them all home safe, is what I always pray,

And may I be thankful and remember them, more than just on Memorial Day.

Watching Over Me

Lord how comforting it is to know, that You are watching over me,

That you have very special plans for me, from now through eternity,

And I only need to seek Your will, and then I will surely know,

That there is only one path I need to travel, only one Way I need to go,

For you cared so much for me, that You hung on Calvary’s tree,

So that from the bondage of my sins, I truly could be set free,

From the oppression of the devil, I have a source to overcome,

All that he may tempt me with, in You Lord the victory is won,

As You are faithful and true, may I be faithful too,

For I have found that life is nothing, if I’m not living it for You,

So in my earthly journey, I will strive to be all You want me to be,

Thank You for giving me peace and hope, as You watch over me.

You Are Truly Amazing

Lord may I take just a little time, to pause in humble meditation,

Realizing all the beauty there is around me, in Your beautiful earthly creation,

Knowing that this is only a small part of it, that is now filling my eyes,

Remembering that You care even for a sparrow, as I watch it fly,

Amazed that everything living here, is constantly growing,

Making me want all the more, Your will to be knowing,

Feeling Your presence as I walk outside, in a gentle rain,

Thankful that Heaven lies in waiting, so much more than earthly gain,

Also thankful for the salvation I’ve received from You, never will I be the same,

Becoming a new person by answering, when You called my name,

For you bring everything into being by Your speaking, to You my prayers I raise,

Knowing You are faithful and true, I will give You all my praise.

Never Condemned

For those of us who have been gloriously saved, there is now no condemnation,

Yet the devil wants to make us forget, that we are made righteous by our Savior’s salvation,

And we will eternally hold the victory, over sin, hell, and the grave,

For our Creator gave us this dominion, and He is mighty to save,

But the ruler of the night, continues to bombard our living with his lying,

He would be so pleased, if we just sat around all day feeling sick and crying,

So we need to always keep our eyes on Jesus, and the good things from above,

Remembering that in all our being human, God never removes His love,

I’m thankful that He only wants the best for me, and that He will not condemn,

Forgiving and forgetting my past, where my life had once been,

His giving me the knowledge of His will, what He wants me to be,

Makes me more than eternally grateful, for all He has done for me.

Ever the Same

If Heaven and earth were to pass away, Lord You always will remain,

For no matter what may happen, Lord You are ever the same,

In my human living, I have many decisions I have to make,

But Lord in my seeking Your will, I realize my eternity is at stake,

And I have chosen life Lord, for I have chosen You,

May our relationship ever be reflected, in all I say and do,

Each day I pray that I may grow more into, what You Lord want me to be,

So others may want to accept Your salvation, that they too may be free,

For I realize that here on earth, will not be my final resting place,

And I anticipate the joy of one day, looking into Your smiling face,

Lord I am thankful that You are constant, that Your love will fail never,

For You Lord eternally remain the same, yesterday, today, and forever.

The Great I Am

Born into a sinful nature, Heaven and hell hanging in the balance,

I received tremendous mercy, from the One called the Great I Am,

And I lived my life just as I wanted to, one that I filled with sin,

Yet I experienced that amazing grace, from the One called the Great I Am,

And when I slipped and fell with a great fall, right back into the darkness,

I was loved with the greatest love, from the One called the Great I Am,

Now as I seek His will daily, wanting to do life things right,

I have been gifted with unending favor, from the One called the Great I Am,

Now in the struggle of this human living, the devil continues his never ending temptations,

My soul is filled with a wonderful peace, from the One called the Great I Am,

This joyful salvation I was gifted, is ever available to everyone,

Bought at a great price, but freely given, from the One called the Great I Am.

By His Love

There is a lot of hatred in this world, but I will not take part,

As Jesus has shown me the better Way, and His love fills my heart,

I don’t know if there are different degrees of darkness, but Satan rules the night,

Yet he is totally defeated, if we choose to walk in God’s glorious light,

My heart aches for those who suffer every day, with heartache and with pain,

I pray they find God’s peace and hope, and His divine healing gain,

For I am finding out more every day, about Jesus saying go that extra mile,

A lot of times you can lift someone’s spirit, with just a simple smile,

As we take one day at a time, we also touch lives one by one,

And it will only be in Heaven, that we realize all the good we’ve done,

No matter what we may have now, I look forward to what eternity holds,

For I am eternally thankful, for the day Jesus saved my soul,

Now if you are a believer, your life is the sermon that you preach,

I seek for mine to be such, that many of the lost will be reached,

May I show that God’s message is all about love, that there is no room for hate,

For I am no prophet but I think the time is short, and it is getting late.

Never Thirsty

I have tasted the living waters, so I will never thirst again.

It is so spiritually satisfying, that I do not want to sin,

The source of this living water, is available to all,

Jesus ever waiting, for you to answer His sweet call,

But it is freely given, something that you have to do,

For Jesus ever loving, leaves that choice up to you,

And though human living has many choices, eternity only has two,

Please choose life so that my precious Savior, can make your heart brand new,

For His Word ever nourishes one’s soul, His promises and truth revealed,

Delivering salvation, so one can be saved and also healed,

Now I will always see the good things, even when things look their worst,

For I know that within His living waters, my soul will never thirst.

Soaking Up His Love

 My heart starts to smile, as the moon and stars shine out,
And my soul is filled with hope, there is no room for doubt,

In the darkness it is so peaceful, though I know it is the devil’s playground,

But I can feel God’s presence, and know that He is around,

For it is physically only, that I am walking in the night,

Now spiritually and forever, I will live in God’s light,

Never straying off the path set before me, it runs so straight and true,

Having to constantly reject the temptations, the sinful things Satan wants me to do,

For the devil surely wants me, from the truth to be wholly blinded,

Yet I am seeking God’s will constantly, wanting to be totally single-minded,

And the reward is worth the waiting, living with Jesus in Heaven above,

But for now I will run this human race, sharing and soaking up His love.

He is Always With Me

While I was being formed in my mother’s womb, Lord You were there with me,

Waiting until I grew to know the truth, so You could set me free,

And as a young child growing up, not knowing wrong from right,

Lord You took my hand to steer me, toward Your glorious light,

In all of life’s choices that I faced, and through the bad ones that I’ve made,

Lord You never turned Your back on me, Your love for me did not fade,

And as I struggled with some things, that are better left in my past,

Lord You gave me a hope and a peace, that will eternally last,

I am learning that everything said about You and by You, are so very real,

And life just isn’t worth much, if not lived single-mindedly in Your will,

Lord I am thankful every day, that when the time came for my sins to be atoned,

That You drank the bitter cup of death on a cross, and did not leave me alone,

Fulfilled

Just as Jesus carried the cross, He also carried the weight of all my sin,

The cup did not pass from Him, but to His Father's will He did attend,

That old snake the devil, thought that Jesus had surely failed,

But Satan didn't know that our victory, to the cross was nailed,

And all the prophecies about Jesus, are still constantly being fulfilled,

So that in all of my believing, I can be saved and healed,

Now in our celebrating His resurrection, let us never forget,

That there are more good things to come, that the best is not here yet,

For eternity hangs in the balance, everything the Bible says will come to be,

And all I trust in within my blind faith, one day soon I will be able to see,

Remember Christianity is not a dead religion, but a relationship to save,

And one of the best things about Easter, is there is an empty grave.

That Name

Just like the thief on the cross, I too have called on that name,

The one that changes lives forever, so they never are the same,

To experience the power of that name, in salvation and in healing,

Knowing that His eternal love, is more than just a feeling,

Thankful I have chosen life, life that that name brings,

Praising Him with my voice, in the songs I loudly sing,

For His teachings build my faith, making my purpose oh so real,

As that name guides me, toward His perfect will,

In my seeking Him, that name drives me to my knees,

When I realize He is the only Way, my soul could be set free,

That name holds a wonderful message, I will proudly proclaim,

As I continue to call on Jesus, for Jesus is that name.

He Didn't Fail

I thought about a tree, the one where the sinless One was nailed,

And I remembered it was because, of all the many times I failed,

As He carried the whole weight of all our sins, I know He was thinking of me,

So that from all the evil and the bondage, I could truly be set free,

He created the total package, salvation yes and healing,

And now within His presence, I know it is His love that I am feeling,

Now I can walk without any fear, of whatever today or even tomorrow may hold,

For He has filled my heart with faith, and eternal hope fills my soul,

An eternity with Him, is why I seek to do His will,

Everyone has a choice, but know that Heaven and hell are real,

May not one drop of blood be wasted, but may all come to see,

That Jesus died for you, thank You Lord for hanging on that tree.

Never Say No

I don’t remember Jesus ever saying no, when it came time to save or heal,

The salvation and healing offered through the cross, today is still very real,

And it is truly great to be a part, of His special anointing,

The life He offers through being in His will, is never disappointing,

Even on the days sin’s temptations bombard us, much heavier than on others,

It is easier to defeat the devil, with help from my Christian sisters and brothers,

To know someone is lifting you up in prayer, each and every day,

Makes me thankful for them, and I also remember them when I pray,

My desire, as is God’s, is that all would become believers,

So that of God’s grace, mercy, and blessings, they could become receivers,

And I hope that by how I am now living, everyone will know,

If they need help with getting saved or healed, I never will say no.

Lord I Love You

Compared to Yours my love is like, one drop of water in the seven seas,

But it is enough to help me keep the faith, in what I truly believe,

For it is a great thing, if only the size of a mustard seed,

And as I walk each day through life, I see You Lord meeting all my needs,

I will seek Your will diligently, until I experience my human death,

Keeping You on my mind, whispering Your wonderful name in every breath,

Then into eternity, praying I have fulfilled all You expect of me,

Studying Your Word now to find out, all You want me to be,

For life and death hang in the balance, of every choice that I may make,

I have chosen You, and want everyone to know what really is at stake,

Avoiding any temptations, so I can walk straight and true,

Surely not missing any opportunities to let You know, how much I love You.

An Eternal Love

How can I not love someone, who has loved me since before eternity,

Who loved me with the greatest love, even before I came to be,

Whose love has no beginning, and surely has no end,

And in His great compassion, to the cross His Son did send,

So that within my humanness, this love I would come to know,

That in the journey toward my destiny, His love I always show,

For love is more than just a word, it is expressed in all I do,

And in my living as a sinner, this greatest love made me brand new,

I cannot comprehend everything, this love of God contains,

But yesterday, today, and in all my tomorrows, this love ever remains,

So I will not let anything of this world, cause me to be sad or blue,

Because I can always hear Jesus saying, I will eternally love you.

Wilderness

Sometimes I find myself walking, in the wilderness of my humanity,

During these times I have to focus, on the One taking me through eternity,

For the devil wants to render me helpless, he is an excellent deceiver,

But he has no place in the life, of a sanctified believer,

We have to be careful so we don't fail, when confronted with past sins,

For the devil truly enjoys our returning, to the place that we had been,

But the truth is not subject to failure, it is what sets us free,

Accepting Jesus dying for my salvation, becoming all He wants me to be,

And if He were to return today, then I am ready to go,

But in His delaying His coming, more of His will I want to know,

Because there is no reason for anyone, Heaven's glory to miss,

For Jesus gave Himself for all, so no one remains in their wilderness.

Truly Set Apart

I am truly set apart, I've been forgiven of all my sins,

So constantly I guard my heart, so the devil doesn't draw me back in,

For it's real easy to be righteous, when sitting on a church pew,

But after I leave the sanctuary, I must be careful what I say and do,

For it is an ongoing battle, when one is following God's will,

Even after accepting Jesus as Savior, the devil harasses me still,

He wants to discourage me, from becoming what God wants me to be,

Trying to blind me from the truth, that Jesus gives me to see,

But I don't see any future, in my returning to my old ways,

So I will follow the path laid out by Jesus, every single day,

God's love fills and overflows, from every corner of my heart,

And it is a miraculous glorious experience, my being set apart.

Mark My Heart

Mark my heart oh Lord so all will know, that I am only yours,

So I don't have any scars, from all in this life I have endured,

Let me leave everything from my past, behind me in my past,

So I can concentrate on only good things, that for eternity will last,

I am sorry Lord, but so thankful, You bore the full weight of my sins,

Your salvation is eternal, and keeps me from returning to where I'd been,

My faith is full of hope and cheer, because of all You do,

And though my outer self may be eroding, my inner self is being renewed,

Your love continually transforms me, into what You want me to be,

I have always lived in a free country, but I've never felt this free,

May everyone know the reason Lord, why you have set me apart,

For You truly are my salvation, and I know You have marked my heart.

Every Day

I wake up to rain dribbling down the gutter, on a cool February morn,

And I pause in the moment, to thank God again for my being born,

As I look out my window, the sun bursts through the clouds and starts to burn,

This causes the birds to start singing, each one taking its own turn,

Winter is taking off his old thick coat, and Spring is putting on her dress,

But I am anxious in just this moment, to see how God will bless,

For I take too much for granted, a miracle is in each day's living,

As an individual creation, may I share all the good things I am given,

Because of the rapid pace this world sets, I have to slow things down,

I know I am amazed by the beauty in this life, if I stop to look around,

It isn't meant for us to be, sad or angry about everything,

I have found within my faith, the peace, joy, and love only God can bring,

So I will cherish the truth of salvation, that will last through eternity,

For Jesus did something for me, that no one else could do for me,

That is why this wonderful morning, for an old friend I can pray,

And tomorrow no matter the weather, I'll thank God for another beautiful day.

Totally

Lord may I live my life, as if I only have to please You,

For I only want to further Your kingdom, in all I say and do,

You have showed me that this world's darkness, disappears in Your light,

It is with Your companionship, that I stay on the path that's right,

I don't want to be associated with any evil, that is here on earth,

For You have guided me into the Way of eternal life, after my new birth,

I am amazed at this miracle, You have performed in me,

And I am sorry for all the wrong I did, before I came to believe,

Oh Lord I know with everything in me, that You love everyone,

May they accept that the victory for their souls, is already won,

So let Me constantly walk each day, to spread this truth so real,

That I run this race called life, totally within Your will.

Love Unhindered

Oh love you are not like a light switch, I can turn off and on,

For love you are all around me, even when I think you're gone,

And love may I never restrict you, but always share you as I live,

Because you are the greatest gift, that someone can give,

Yes love I know you are eternal, God's gift from up above,

For God demonstrated through His only Son, true Heavenly love,

Salvation's love hung on a cross, blossoming as His life's blood dripped,

Showing me that love really is more, than words flowing through my lips,

Now in that love I seek His will, to Him my life I surrender,

Thankful for the eternal life He gave me, may His love be unhindered,

My prayer is that I show God's love, in all I say and do,

So that everyone can hear God's still small voice, whispering I love you.

Eternity is Not Lost

Loss of my money or my health, would not be the greatest loss for me,

I think what truly would be the worst, is the loss of my eternity,

For the end of all our being, does not rest in the grave,

Because God sent His only Son, so that we could be saved,

And God had it all planned out, when Jesus came to earth,

Delivered to Mary and Joseph, by a miraculous virgin birth,

Yes Jesus came to minister, to preach and teach and heal,

In my accepting Him just as I am, in His presence one day I'll kneel,

For He made a way for me, by hanging on a cross,

Now I know without a doubt, that my eternity is not lost,

In my salvation I now reside, within His blessings and His favor,

Always thankful every day, that Jesus is my Lord and Savior

Be Strong

The devil isn't Santa Claus, but every day he's watching you,

And he surely doesn't want you to be good, but rather sad and blue,

He would rather we treat Christmas and Easter, like any other day,

And he tries to drown you out, every time you stop to pray,

As to what the Bible says, he still thinks he can change the way it ends,

The devil wants us to enjoy the things of this world, but he is not our friend,

He doesn't want us to know and live the truth, for he wants total control,

Putting confusion, illness, and death on us, trying to steal our soul,

But I've seen the light, an eternal light, and I reject the deceiver,

For I have accepted Jesus as my Savior and Lord, I am a true believer,

And I will seek God's will daily, not following what is so wrong,

Forever living for Jesus, within a faith so right and strong.

His Joy is Greater

Compared to the things of this world, the joy of my salvation is greater,

And it is based in God's love, you can't prosper being a hater,

Now may my being be acceptable to God, a living sacrifice and holy,

Not being conformed to this world, but letting God transform me,

For true sanctification begins inside, and manifests on the outside,

Now may I mirror Jesus, as in God's will I abide,

Not pretending to be anything other, than what God wants me to be,

So the direction I am pointing, there Jesus the lost will see,

For it is not all about me, my place in eternity is set,

My desire is reaching out to the lost, those that don't know the truth yet,

That they may accept Jesus as Savior, so they too are set apart,

For Jesus is the same forever, and He is still changing hearts.

A Brand New Way

In this pilgrimage called life, I've traveled down some rugged roads,

The daily struggle for survival, was an awful heavy load,

But you don't notice it so much, when you think you're having fun,

Sometimes I wonder how I'm still alive, with everything I've done,

This bondage I was in, held my soul in a spiritual jail,

And the ultimate outcome, would be going straight to hell,

But one day I heard a message, about the One who held salvation's key,

One who had sacrificed His life, so I could be set free,

And in simple faith I accepted, what He had to offer me,

Since giving Him my all, this Savior is molding me into what He wants me to be,

Now the old man I used to be, all he did has been forgiven,

Heaven is in my eternity, and I'm experiencing a brand new way of living.

I Think of You

The sun shining bright this morning, the skies a brilliant blue,

A fresh cut yard with beautiful flowers, and I think of you,

A plate of meatloaf on the table, with mashed potatoes too,

Biscuits just out of the oven, mouth's watering as I think of you,

From childhood memories through a lifetime, more than just a few,

Forgot more than I remember, more than enough I think of you,

Teaching me to ride my bike, sitting together in a pew,

Learning good things from the Bible, again I think of you,

Remembering that first kiss, all the silly things we used to do,

An old movie or a song on the radio, in that moment I think of you,

Playing ball in the back yard, such a rough and lively crew,

Showing out in our cars, no matter what I think of you,

Standing in front of the preacher, and we both say I do,

That day you were so beautiful,true love I think of you,

Would one child be enough, no we decide we would have two,

Wanting them to have better than we had, oh I think of you,

In my lifetime the good has outweighed the bad, I have no reason to be blue,

To all that I have shared it with, I really do think of you,

Many loved ones and friends have left us, I miss them all it's true,

But many are left here to still love, and I will always think of you.

To Love Like Him

When I found God in my heart, I found Him everywhere,

And it would be very cruel of me, if this message I didn’t share,

For through this awesome experience, true love really bloomed,

My life is now on a different course, not headed for eternal doom,

For God’s love is the axis, on which our world should revolve,

And through this greatest love, earthly problems will just dissolve,

But there will always be haters, we shouldn’t let them effect our believing,

For if we do it will take away, from what we should be receiving,

So let us keep our eyes, on the One who created love,

So we keep looking toward the good things, raining down from above,

For God’s love birthed salvation through His Son, forgiveness for our sin,

So my prayer is that more every day, I can love like Him.

By Faith

I may never be a millionaire, but you know that is okay,

For I rely on Jesus, and He is the one who gets me through each day,

For the riches of this believer, are not what I may have in a bank,

But what I'm storing up in Heaven, for this Jesus I will thank,

Sometimes the struggles all seem endless, with no solution being in sight,

I will have to keep trusting Jesus, just keep walking in His light,

For in things spiritual, mental, and physically, one can experience pain,

But my Lord's death on the cross conquered these, He didn't die in vain,

I need always to remember, that I am called out and set apart,

And whether I'm on a hilltop or in a valley, Jesus You possess my heart,

For my wealth is in my faith in God, ever knowing He is near,

And I grow richer daily, and with Him face each day with no fear.

Now

Lord as I think of all You've done, all I can say is wow,

This causes my faith to grow, keeps my hand on the plow,

When I see You soften the hardest heart, I just stand in awe,

For Lord only You can change that heart, so that the coldness thaws,

And then that person transforms into, who You want them to be,

When they find the real truth in You, and really become free,

Released from the bondage the devil puts one in, Jesus breaks those chains,

And in the sanctuary of His love, you can eternally remain,

Even as the temptations continue, there's someone to help you fight,

And all the wiles of the devil, flee from the presence of God's light,

So to plant the seeds of salvation, we will continue to plow,

To bring others into Your kingdom of believers, we know the time is now.

Ode to 2013

Another year has been thrust upon us, I was glad to see it arrive,

And with great expectations I can say, it is great to be alive,

For I truly expect and have agreed with others, that this year will be the best,

That we have ever had, and we can forget all the bad from all the rest,

I am anxious to see what God has in store, more from Him I’m going to learn,

For all the bridges leading to my past, He has already burned,

I plan to be more passionate, in sharing all the good things He is giving,

And I want His unfailing love, to always be reflected in my living,

That those who are lost and wandering, can start a relationship with Him,

To realize that one really can lead a life, not bogged down in sin,

So I will pass along to you, gifts of blessings and good cheer,

For this year is going to be wonderful, so have a better New Year.
