In Newness of Life

Lord may I never let a sinful thought, ever make me pause,
So the devil can step in, thinking I support his cause,
For sin is Satan's meat and potatoes, always his favorite meal,
As long as I am on this earth, he'll see how much of me he can steal,
Though he can not have my soul, he tries to damage my witness every day,
So I have to be vigilant and faithful, always walking in God's Way,
But if I open up just a crack, Satan will step through the door,
Reminding me of my past, things I don't partake of anymore,
And sometimes I realize, just how human I can be,
Satan needs to accept the fact, that saved and sanctified is the new me,
I am mighty in the Lord, not a sinner who is weak,
And my past is not my future, as long as it is Jesus that I seek.

Unique

To see someone saved or healed Lord, is a unique experience,
The closer I am to You, the more I expect Your Spirit's moving to commence,
For Lord I want to feel Your presence, each and every day,
And I do know You are near me, as I walk in Your Way,
As I seek Your perfection, the devil always tries to find fault,
But I am constantly resisting him, and only You Lord will I exalt,
You made the ultimate sacrifice for salvation, free for all to receive,
I am eternally thankful for the day, when I chose to believe,
That is why I have given You control, of my heart, my soul, and mind,
And I know when You call Your children Lord, I won't be left behind,
So in every part of my life, it is Jesus I will seek,
For Lord You perform the miraculous, and Lord You are unique.

Where I Will Stay

Life challenges me every day, in one way or another,
And the pressures brought to bear, makes me feel like I will smother,
The devil doesn't make it easy, for he wants me to fail,
He has reserved a special place for each of us, in a sinner's hell,
And he keeps throwing out temptations, wanting to possess my soul,
But since I've accepted God's salvation, that is something he cannot control,
The growing faith that I now have, sees me through each day,
And walking in God's Way, is the path on which I'll stay,
For I tried several other ways, being right where Satan wanted me to be,
But the straight and narrow one God showed me, truly set me free,
So I can now face each day, with the hope my Savior gave,
For He is truly greater than the devil, and He is mighty to save.

Inside My Heart

I know I do not write as well, as the writers of the Bible wrote,
Even though I'm trying to learn, there's not much of Your Word I can quote,
But Lord I am really trying, to ever live my life in Your will,
And as to my loving You, I know You know my heart, how I feel,
About You and all You've done and are doing, everyday for me,
Never returning to the bondage of my sin, after You have set me free,
As the sun casts a shadow behind me, may my sin be that way too,
Forgiven and forgotten in my past, since I Lord have found You,
As I look toward my eternity, the path looks oh so bright,
And I am ever drawn to You Lord, guided by Your glorious light,
How blessed I am in my salvation, sanctified and set apart,
And sharing with a lost world Lord, all You've put inside my heart.

Seek and Serve Him

The Word of God is living and powerful, something to live life by,
And if we use it as our guide, we'll see a difference, that is no lie,
It is full of truth and promises, not just stories told,
And it is full of saving healing, for any sinful soul,
It is wonderful to sit down, and pick each single verse apart,
To learn all I can about it, then store it in my heart,
As each day within this human body, seems to fly by in a blur,
I love to sit and spend some time with my Savior and let Him my spirit stir,
Now I cannot imagine, what Heaven has in store,
But compared to anything here I cherish, I've learned Heaven is much more,
This keeps me always giving thanks, that I'm forgiven for my sin,
Now I have a never ending desire, to seek and to serve Him.

I Realized

I looked toward the cross and then my hand, there was a hammer there,
Looking at Jesus hanging on that cross, realizing all my sins He came to bear,
With tears in my eyes I knew then, it was as if I had driven the nails,
I now understand this birth of salvation, the way to keep me out of hell,
I will never ever experience pain, like my Lord experienced pain,
Now every time I fail Him, I have to hang my head in shame,
For living like I used to live, is not something that needs to be repeated,
But I need to live my life in the reality, that the devil has been defeated,
Yet there are days I do not accomplish, what God's will is for me,
Still I pray everyday that my faith grows, so I become all He wants me to be,
I study God's Word to be nourished, so that my soul will thrive,
May the whole world know the cross wasn't the end, my Savior is alive.

Ultimately

When I was dead in my trespasses and sin, Jesus made me alive,
And living life within His will, has caused my life to thrive,
Of His grace and mercy, there is nothing that compares,
And He gives us so much love, that we overflow and have to share,
For God's blessings and His favor, follow after Christian living.
After Jesus gave so much, we should spare nothing in our giving,
And our salvation story, should be something we always tell,
To help save a sinner's soul, and keep them out of hell,
So let us worship the one, who changed our eternity,
Who will point us if we let Him, to all we need to be,
Let us ever remember, that Jesus paid sin's deadly price,
His love for us the reason, for His being our ultimate sacrifice.

Stayed

Lord You have brought me to this place, to help set the captive free,
And I will not let the problems of this earth, ever hinder me,
The devil always tries to take me, back to my old ways,
But I choose to ignore him, and worship the one I praise,
I will ever live my life, in the sanctuary of God's peace,
And anything contrary to my faith, well it will have to cease,
My hope is in my salvation, there is no room for stress,
So I will daily do God's will, and allow Him to bless,
Now I seek God's kingdom, and His holy righteousness first,
For Lord it is for Your truth, that I always thirst,
So I will live this earthly life, knowing You will see me through,
Because I trust in You Lord, and my mind is stayed on You.

Praising the Amazing

Hebrews tells me that the Word of God, is living and powerful,
And there is not one word in it, that I would ever dare cull,
The Word of God also works effectively, in all those who believe,
And I'm thankful without ceasing, for all those who have God's salvation received,
Worldly things mean nothing, so I will not set my mind on things of the flesh,
For I have to set it on things above, if I ever expect to be blessed,
The pace of life in this world, passes almost like a blur,
So I have to change from my normal course, and just stop to consider,
And as the devil wants us to be afraid, sit in a corner and cower,
Lord I choose to stand in my faith, and live my life in Your power,
Spending as much time with You Lord, worshipping and praising,
For living life through Your Holy Word, it is truly amazing.

My Main Priority

Lord I am thankful I am growing in You, for none of You I want to miss,
I'll never return to the place, where I could have delivered the Judas kiss,
For my life was a betrayal, until I really came to know You,
During that time if I had any righteous thoughts, they were very few,
But I did want to pray my sins off of me, each and every day,
But in developing a relationship with You Lord, I found a better way,
For You died for my salvation, on a cruel rugged cross,
If I had not accepted it, my soul would be eternally lost,
But now I have the assurance, of a Heavenly eternity,
And I can't praise You enough Lord, for all You have done for me,
Just knowing that You are for me, ever stirs my heart up still,
That is why my main priority, is constantly seeking Your will.

Oh Calvary

There is nothing negative about Calvary, nothing to subtract,
The cross looks like a plus sign, and it adds to our life, that's a fact,
And God only removes those things, that need to be taken away,
For there is only good and bad, no areas that are gray,
We cannot worship God, and seek the world's way too,
I hope you know God has a special plan, designed for only you,
For in the realm of His kingdom, you have a special place,
There is more than living and dying, more than our taking up space,
You are His child if you’ve accepted Him as Savior, and He wants you to do your part,
He wants you to share His love, which He has placed within your heart,
Just as we have received, we too should freely give,
For even one Christian affects every lost soul they meet, by the way they live.

We Are of God

How wonderful to know I am of God, and that I have overcome,
For greater is He that is in me, and mighty victories He has won,
And how powerful is His Word, may it saturate my very soul,
For only His salvation can forgive my sins, and truly make me whole,
So I read the Bible to learn, all the truths it will reveal,
And find He doesn't only save me, but also through Him I am healed,
God wants all the lost to know Him, to remove their blindness so they can see,
That through Jesus dying on a cross, from sin's bondage they can be free,
So all praise, honor, and glory, I give to Jesus Christ my Lord,
For He has given me a gift, something I never could afford,
Now as I walk in His will every day, knowing He guards the path I trod,
I will spend all of my eternity realizing, that I truly am of God.

Never Too Old

I woke up this morning, and something told me I had gotten old,
And it has seemed the summers are hotter, and the winters are so cold,
These old bones are creaking more, and my muscles aren't strong as before,
If I ever get down on it, well it sure is harder getting up off the floor,
All these last several years it sure seems, I have been more tired,
And I don't know if I convinced myself, but I'm finally going to retire,
But you know it seems here lately, that God is oh so near,
And it seems that living for Him, is something that has grown more dear,
As I have found salvation in Him, I've found my healing in Him too,
Now getting old and retiring is not so bad, if You believe God's Word is true,
And I'm realizing that even if I'm old like Abraham, God can call me still,
So I am taking step by step every day, always walking in His will.
